I made a same-day reservation via Expedia. When I arrived at the airport counter, the gentleman asked if I had booked the reservation that day. I confirmed, and he responded, "Yeah, we don’t do same-day reservations, and we don’t have a car for you." I showed him my confirmation, but he claimed it was common knowledge that they don't accept same-day reservations, as if I should have known.
I reached out to Expedia, who confirmed that Thrifty had my reservation in their system. However, since the airport counter couldn’t provide a car, they said there was nothing they could do. I returned to the counter and told the man there should be a confirmation in his system. He didn’t even bother checking, gave me attitude and said, “We have cars, but they’re reserved for others,” (while he was packing up to leave at 8:30 p.m).
Expedia later informed me that Thrifty was willing to give me a car first thing in the morning. That made no sense, as the counter was closing, no other customers were there, and they clearly had cars available. Why couldn’t they give me one then? I understand that Expedia is a third-party service, but why allow them to list your cars as available if you don’t accept same-day reservations? You are responsible for where your cars and deals are advertised! I'll never deal with Thrifty again. This experience ruined my trip and ended up costing me more money.
I should have checked the reviews prior to booking. Teach your staff some manners and customer service etiquette! Clearly multiple reviews talk about how rude your employees are and no action has been taken.

Our pickup time was 10am, but due to flight issues, we didn't arrive until 1015pm. We were ckd in quickly, received a car to drive.Due to our stay being extended because of Hurricane Helene, we needed to extend our rental. That was easily done online. When we returned the car, one of the employees noticed I was having a hard time walking and standing. She offered to give us a ride back to the terminal. Great experience.

Hirable just horable in still waiting on my surcrity deposit to be returned to me $200 thrifty lies I'm on the phone with thrifty now I returned my rental on the 31st of August 2024 dose anyone want to start a class action lawsuit agents thrifty here is my contract # 575-999-1671 thrifty car rental will pay for their crimes against consumers as California has the consumer act and law they will pay for withholding security deposits and keeping them with out any justification it is illegal

Canceled appointment last minute.
The AI is probably gonna respond to this like it does all the posts lol. They kept my deposit. This place is a risky and a total scam. The people on the phone are hard to get ahold of too and keep shifting the blame.

Car rentals can always be a little nerve wrecking, but i had such a seamless process with Thrifty. I picked up my car at Burbank and dropped off at LAX, 8 days rental. There was only one person working at the desk for pick up, it was a bit slow but nothing crazy and the front desk lady was one of the nicest sweetest lady I had the pleasure of meeting. I had booked for a Corolla
type vehicle, got a Dodge Charger. Overall great experience here. Return was a breeze as well, dropped at LAX return centre, no need to check out, I had ensured gas was pumped full and did a quick vacuum at the gas station, no extra charges or surprises. Overall I’m very happy with my experience and would highly recommend the Burbank location

I had freaked myself out prior to my rental by reading all the one star reviews on here, so I felt the need to write this 5 star review because I had an amazing experience here. Don't let the 1 star reviews scare you off!I had no trouble picking up my car around 9pm on Monday. There was no line, and the car I had reserved via AAA in advance was available (a Nissan Pathfinder since I needed room for 7.) Magbet, my Thrifty agent, was so friendly and helpful. When I told him that I was a AAA member, I was able to get a free child seat and free extra driver added. Magbet even helped me carry the child seats to my car. He answered all of my questions and was able to get a supervisor if he didn't know the answer. I had no issues with returning the car either. Was not overcharged for anything. Super painless and quick experience all around.

They had the most horrible service! I originally rented the special for $140 and they only offered an electric car when I was going to Las Vegas... which has little to no charging stations on the 15 freeway! Instead they conducted Bait and Switch by offering only luxury vehicles that were gas guzzlers when I could clearly see there were more affordable options available on their car lot!
Instead of accommodating the price they charged us another $100 extra on the rental AND EVEN CHARGED US FOR AN ADDITIONAL DAY WE DID NOT RENT!!!!
THEY EVEN CHARGED US FOR A FULL TANK OF GAS WHEN WE FILLED IT UP!!!
TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING AND KEEP ALL YOUR RECEIPTS FOR FUEL AND MAKE SURE TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE TIME YOU RETURNED THE VEHICLE!!!
I ASKED THEM TO CONFIRM I REFUELED THE CAR AND TURNED IT IN ON TIME... AND THE GUY CHECKING THE CAR SAID YES FUEL IS FILLED AND VEHICLE WAS TURNED IN ON TIME!
THEN I GET HOME TO SEE A MASSIVE BILL FOR ANOTHER FULL DAY RENTAL AND FOR A FULL TANK OF GAS!!!
HELP!!!! I NEVER LEAVE BAD REVIEWS BUT THIS THRIFY AT BURBANK AIRPORT IS RUNNING A SCAM!!!
THERE'S NO WAY TO CALL THEM AND THEY WILL TRY DENYING YOUR DEPOSIT AT ALL COSTS!!! DON'T BE THE NEXT VICTIM TO THEIR SCAM!!!!
MY WIFE AND I EVEN TRIED TELLING THEM WE'RE GONNA PASS AND GO TO ANOTHER RENTAL COMPANY... THEN THE LADY AT THE DESK JUST RAN THE CARD WITHOUT OUR CONSENT...FORCING US TO RENT THEIR LUXURY VEHICLES!!!

Did online check in but was told to wait in the app. Had to go to counter to redo reservation. Then had no car available. Had to wait 20+ minutes. Avoid at all cost.

Highly negative experience.
I asked if I could return the car across the airport, and the two employees checked for me and said, yes, we can do that. I told them I would drop off at Atlantic Aviation around 6am (earlier than booked).
*No mention* was made of extra fees or charges. I gave them the information and time I’d drop the car off. (6am instead of 1030am drop-off day.)
The morning of drop off, I spent an extra hour trying to find a phone number for their local office. Of course, it’s not listed. Called the 877 number, and you can’t even talk to a human. It directs me to the web site. And there is nowhere on the web site to talk to anyone or give information.
I spent another hour when I got home trying to talk to someone, all with no luck. Finally chatted with a virtual assistant to ensure they knew where there car was. Again, no mention was made about extra fees.
And now I’ve been charged late fees and extra fees. Totally unacceptable. I want to hear from a manager from Thrifty Burbank airport and resolve this issue.
Total employee fail. Total business fail that I can’t find an easy way to speak with a Thrifty employee on the phone.

I was told it would be less than 300 for 4 days, my total came out to over $700. They add so many charges, don’t rent here. My car also had issues, seat belt alarm going off for an hour straight (when we were all buckled)
Terrible company, they did nothing to resolve and also hit me with an underage fee even though I am well over 21? Terrible experience

Only 1 person working & takes an insane amount of time. Like people have places to go. There needs to be more than one person working. Absolutely ridiculous! Been standing in line for 45 mins and there was only 1 other person in line.The lady behind the counter takes absolutely forever. She takes way too long to do Everything.Not at all efficient. Took over an hour to get to counter and then they still didn’t have the car ready.Honestly I wouldn’t even give them one star. Zero stars
