I have never in my life had an experience like this!!!
7-8-2022: After 20 mins all I could think was to start videoing on & off (which i have never done before!). It went on another 20 minutes. I have put the video on VIMEO - the link is below.
I got a box at this location in 1990. Doris & Vince were the owners and Mark ran it. We were friendly for 32 years! Then one day in 2021, this man Hike was there & he told me he was the new owner! I had some packages to send out & asked him how he wanted to be paid. He said he didn't have credit card set up yet so he'd invoice me. Then Mark was around again working part time. Mark told me that he would continue to invoice me. Another day when I brought in packages to send out, Hike said they now didnt have USPS or UPS set up under him, again I asked about being invoiced. He said, "We'll get to it." I made the usual joke, 'well, you know where to find me', as I came in every friday to pick up mail & boxes.
I had come in on the Friday before, seen Hike, & picked up my mail. He didnt say anything while I went behind the boxes & grabbed my mail. I usually didnt have my key for my box anymore so I would always say hello to Mark, & now Hike, & just go grab my mail from behind for at least a decade. Then the following Friday I came in & the bars were closed mid day. I had never seen that before so I said, "Hello? Mark? Hike?"
She came out. I said cheerfully, "hello, just picking up my mail"
She looked at me & said, "Then where's your key?!"
I laughed & said, I don't even know.
She said, "not anymore".
I said something like, So Hello, Im Kristin, Are you just starting working here?
She said, "NO! I am the new owner!"
I said, "oh...Hike sold it? When?"
This was a surprise. I had seen him ONE week ago.
She then said something like, "Without key, no mail"
I explained I had been coming here for 31 years, (I was wrong it was 32) & I dont know where my key is anymore actually.
"What box?"
I told her, 284. she went behind, got my mail & I heard her mumbling complaining about how things would be different now.
She went back to her desk & while i waited she was shuffling papers angrily saying what a mess everything is & how Hike never invoiced anyone & how Mark did everything on slips of paper ...
& she then said i hadn't paid for 1 yr. & my box was closed.
I nicely explained that I had asked them how they wanted to do things now & they just said they'd keep invoicing me but hadn't.
She said well, its not $80 anymore its now $120 or something. I said, fine, how do you want to be paid? Check, credit card?
She kept shuffling papers endlessly, pacing. IT WAS VERY VERY VERY WEIRD.
So im trying to just get her to take my card so I can get my mail! She just kept shuffling papers & Im trying to stay calm as she rants AT me (not easy).
AFTER TWENTY MINUTES & I just kept repeating, I WILL PAY - HERE IS MY CARD - PLEASE GIVE ME MY MAIL ....She would not take my card until I lost patience & started filming her.
SHE NEVER GAVE ME MY MAIL EVER AGAIN even after she charged my card for one more year.
She just kept yelling YOU WANT EVERYTHING FOR FREE - YOU DONT WANT TO WORK. I told her at one point sarcastically, I think I can afford $300 & then she really went EXTRA CRAZY!
"WHY YOU BRAG ABOUT ALL YOUR MONEY!"
Then she would not give me back my credit card after I gave it to her!!!<

I have been a customer since 2007 and my review is based on the fact that I too am a business owner and, like me, these owners are investing their time and efforts into this business to hopefully make a profit some day. The original owners (Vince & Doris) were very sweet and wonderful to their customers and I always enjoyed chatting with them. But they also let the place became run down and out dated and never increased the pricing for Box Rentals. Then in 2021 a new owner who was just as nice and friendly made some good changes to the interior of the business but was not able to make the changes needed to become profitable and sold it the next year. Dee, the new owner, has done what any smart business person would do, she increased the rentals rates to current values. At first I was upset. I mean, I was expecting a price increase because this place was well below the going rate for PO Box rentals. But a 300% increase was hard to swallow. I have another PO Box in Woodland Hills and was paying even more for the same size box so I knew the increase was not unreasonable. Other places in Burbank were very similar to the new prices so it was hard to argue that she was price gouging. Naturally, some customers would leave and that is a chance any owner takes. I have taken the time to get to know Dee who is very kind and hard working. Again, I'm writing this review as a fellow business owner who understands that hard decisions sometimes need to made in order to stay in business. Raising the rates and enforcing US Postal laws was an unpopular move but one that had to be made. Seriously, she has done an amazing job of sprucing up the place and bringing in gift items and other services. The place is bright and welcoming and offers so much more than before. This little business has really been turned around and I wish her all the best and much success!

For nearly two decades, this has been my mail delivery home. Mailboxes & Accessories conveniently located in Burbank - just minutes from Hollywood and Studio City, offers the acceptance of safe mail and documented shipment delivery services. They, also, retail novelty items, other collectibles, as well as, packing and shipping products and services. The new owner works diligently to accommodate the needs of the customers and often goes beyond the call of duty with being personable. With that said, the 24 hour access, available variations of lockboxes to access your packages at after hours, I highly recommend this newly renovated and quaint Burbank mailbox store.

Have spoken to the new owner many times and she's a lovely person. The place looks much nicer inside than before and is very clean. Some of these bad reviews seem to be upset due to the fact they're no longer getting 1990's prices or even welfare. Nothing at all wrong with this business.

Ok, Let's speak the truth about this business. The previous owners Vince and Doris were good people who felt sorry for those that couldn't pay (or didn't want to pay) $80.00 every six months to rent a mailbox and let them keep it without paying. By the way, this $80.00 is the same rate I've been paying since the mailbox was opened in 2003. The other issue is there were people coming into the store and keeping the lock box keys and then at night after business hours, placing a box in the lock box and then later someone else would come in and take the box out. Sounds like they were using the business to deal drugs. So, it is my opinion that all of these previous bad reviews over the last 5-6 months most likely fall into one of the above scenarios, or they were never a box owner and are friends of one of the above scenario people. In order to remove the bad reviews of previous non owners of mailboxes yelp charges an exorbitant fee. I did not know the new owner Dee prior to her taking over this business, and have only developed a relationship with her since. I am glad that she has put up security cameras and has done a remarkable job remodeling the entire business inside and out making it a safer place then it was. And, most importantly, has put a stop to all the shenanigans that were going on previously. Dee has been the owner for over a year now, and I have not had one issue with any of my mail. She is a good, honest, and sincere person who cares about people and even let these idiots that didn't want to pay slide for months before cancelling their mailbox. As you can see,I am not a person who leaves a lot of reviews, nor share with everyone who my friends are on yelp. The truth needed to be told, so if you need a postal mailbox, I would highly recommend getting one from Dee.

There is a reason why this business is unclaimed because they don't want to acknowledge how bad they are. Sure they remodled the place but stay away because they lie, they are over priced and they don't own up to their mistakes. They come off as friendly but do not be fooled. Dee needs to rename herself to F. Previous owners were sooo good. Any old 5star reviews do NOT apply to the new owners and yelp should remove them so you see the new owners true ranking. Potential future customers don't think the old 5stars apply to the current ownership. Any recent 5star reviews, I'm 99.9% sure where done by new ownership's friends or family do NOT trust those. If yelp had a negative ranking I would have selected that, as one star is too generous. Should I spend time and money to sue them in small claims, I should and I would win but collecting from these people would be a waste of time.

My family and I have been doing business here for 30 plus year. Last year the business was sold, the new owner increased the price of mail boxs to double the going rate. They have lost my mail returned important documents to sender in error. They have no clue and have even pissed of the local post office . I move to a new mailbox service and the didnt even know the right paperwork to file with the post office to forward my mail.

I've had a business mailbox here for 20 years. In May of 2022, the business was sold with no announcement to a completely incompetent lying idiot. I paid in full for my mailbox for 1 year in May. The owner QUADRUPLED prices in July & is trying to charge me retroactively which is of course illegal. I have a receipt which states that I paid for 1 year of service and I've had to have the same conversation with her more than 5 times. They don't take notes or adequate record keeping and are now violating the law by withholding my mail. The one thing you need in a mail receiver service is trust and reliability. This place no longer provides either of those things and is operating in an illegal, incompetent and unscrupulous manner. STAY AWAY!!! The new pricing is also outrageous and you can get comparable reliable service around the corner for a reasonable price that is more in line with what the prior owner was charging.The positive reviews here are for the prior owner/operator. This review and the other negative review that is stating a similar experience are for the current owner. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!!! THE NEW OWNER IS TOTAL TRASH!

We were box renters at this business for 21 years, and had no complaints. Then in April 2021 it had a change of ownership, and shortly thereafter, another change of ownership. Since that time its service has been abominable. We travel frequently, and in the past they'd always forward mail to us on the road (we'd deposit funds in advance for this). When we began doing international volunteer work in 2021, we left instructions to forward mail to our son once a month. But they never did this. It would take repeated prodding from our son to get our mail. And it became impossible to reach them by phone -- he'd always get a recording saying their mail box was full. Finally, we had a friend go see them in person, and put them in touch with us directly. Whereupon they sent us a bill saying that our box rent had increased more than THREE HUNDRED PERCENT. And they held our mail for ransom in an effort to force us to pay it, We decided to discontinue service, and sent them payment to cover the few months we were in arrears (at the old rate) plus an extra 20 dollars, and told them to send the rest of the mail to our son and that would be that. Instead, they pocketed the money and returned the mail to senders. Bottom line: a once-reputable business that has gone drastically downhill.

After 13 years, one is forced to change when a new owner takes charge who triples the price of a small box from 80.00 for 6 months to 135.00 for 3 months, and is combative, argumentative, unprofessional, disorganized and intentionally holds mail behind the counter instead of placing the mail into your box due to their lack and incorrect record keeping. One is left with no choice but to move on. No pun intended, I wish them the best. Good Luck!

Our company has had a mailbox here for a long time, and I have personally dealt with them for a few years. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences every time I come to pick up and pay our bills. There always tends to be parking either immediately in front or very nearby, and the service has always been very quick.
