I have been banking with this credit union since 2017. Banking with them and working in the Film business was made easy as they facilitated direct deposits and would clear checks issued through EP or Cast and Crew on the spot. As of today 12.29.23 this is no longer the case. I walked in this morning to make a deposit and a hold was placed on most of the check. I have been frequenting this same branch since 2017 and most of the employees know me, except this morning I was assisted by a new banker (who I was told was assisting from another branch). When I asked an employee about the hold she informed me that they were NO LONGER clearing checks from EP on the spot, that this was previously done as a courtesy but they were no longer accommodating this. The worst part is that there was no communication of this new change to My knowledge nor courtesy today. Mind you in the past First Entertainment Credit Union has marketed themselves as a credit union of the people, but today and with recent other changes this no longer seems to be the case. Imagine my surprise after coming off of a 7 month strike and having had a paycheck held... especially with the holidays there are so many people still working to get back on their feet after struggling with the strike and this new "rule" is coming at the worst of time. Seems like they are implementing this new hold rule because they're trying to make up for interest they did not make off of the hard working film business individuals during the strike. We were all affected. Seems like this "for the people credit union" is now more about making their money and draining people financially.

This use to be my favorite place to bank, the lines were short, fast and the staff friendly. They have now taken away all the tellers and have the SAME amount of people at desks ( those were always there, to deal with loans etc) So if you go in for something quick ( card replacement/ cashiers check) you have to wait in the same queue as those waiting for time intensive issues. So now you are at the bank for 15-45!min instead the previous 3-5!!! Its an absolute NIGHTMARE. The manager is quick to tell you nothing has really changed ( despite the HUGE wait time change) and spins some story that every time a teller performed a transaction it cost the bank $7 and thats why they no longer have them. WHAT??? BRING BACK THE TELLERS!!! Waiting 30 min for a minute transaction is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! I am so disappointed in these changes, it has now become the worse place I have ever banked.

I have been a member of the FECU for 5 years now. I have to say my experience has been positive. Perry Muir has been one of the the most professional people I have ever worked with. He always returns phone calls promptly and processes requests quickly. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. I had a few personal loan, a car loan a credit card. I recommended it to a few friends who are using it now. I find it easier to do business with them than a regular bank.

It's unfortunate that this bank decided to put a hold on my payroll check for 5 days while things have been so difficult with the strikes.I asked them to remove the hold, they wouldn't do it.I asked to release the hold the next day and explain that I had to pay late fees on my car and still wouldn't release the funds.Five days later they say you should enroll in direct deposit. It's funny how they put it as being my fault to not have my PAYROLL CHECK available in time to pay my car. Thanks for the late fees you aren't paying.

The new system they're implementing is, in my opinion, JUNK. Having to "make an appointment" to do routine banking may make sense but if you need last minute banking and have to wait 10-30 minutes?!? Why!? Every time I come in now I feel more compelled to find another CU.

BRING BACK TELLERS!!! PLEASE The wait is ridiculously. We should be able to walk in and not sit and wait like you're handling serious banking... it's a deposit and should be handled within a few minutes.

Regretfully, I suggested to my boyfriend to check out this bank as encouragement to enjoy the benefits of a Credit Union, so we made an appointment to explore the benefits of potentially joining FECU on his lunch break. We were assigned to the representative Dony Soloronzo, who felt unknowledgeable, and unprofessional by looking around the room while speaking in our direction, pushing pamphlets at us, and suggesting we read about their programs online, instead of giving us helpful information directly; nullifying the purpose of an in-person appointment. Neither of us feel incentivized to join this credit union based upon this poor customer service experience. We left feeling unclear about their services, and I'm not too convinced she knew about the programs they were offering either.

Outstanding customer service and that includes the guard, great parking and never a long wait. We love this location.

Should've read the reviews before coming to this branch I used to be with this bank years ago. After I got a job at Disneyland, I left First Entertainment for Disney's bank called Partners FCU. Covid happened, I leave Disney and get married. My husband has First Entertainment so I decide to go join back so we both have the same banks. I leave Partners with a check of the full amount I had at that bank and walk over (literally walk over, Partners and First Ent. are across the street from each other on Olive) try to deposit the check into my new First Ent. account. However, Partners hadn't changed my last name yet so the check was in my maiden name and First Ent. gave me issues depositing it. The manager (Etta? Edna? Eda?) told me I had to come back with my marriage license or photo ID to prove my name change for compliance reasons. The next day, I do. She makes the change and deposits my check but continues to tell me she can only do it this one time and makes it seem like I'm frauding myself or doing something horribly bad like a child. I felt like I was being warned or disciplined. I'm like I don't plan on remarrying and changing banks in the middle of it again?! Tf?! So today, day 1 of the SAG strike mind you, I receive a residual check in the mail. I wasn't married yet, mind you so they sent the check in my maiden name. So again, I went back to First Ent. to deposit the check, but this time brought my marriage license and old drivers license. I briefly explain to the guy the name situation and he says they can still deposit it. As he goes to do it, I notice him reading the computer and I just knew that Etta woman wrote something. He says "so you've don't this before?". And I explain, yes! I switched banks because I got married and my old bank hadn't changed my last name yet. I literally had my marriage license and old drivers license sitting in front of him to prove the name change. I'm like if you would've preferred me walk across the street with $20+k cash in my hand to prevent this whole issue, I wouldn't done that. But I prefer not to get jumped. In the end, he deposits the money and God knows if he added to Etta's notes. It wouldn't been nice to feel like this wasn't all an issue, I'm frauding myself and make me want to leave this bank already. So long as I'm married, I'll stay, only because my husband banks here. The guy was nice and chill. Idk about the Olive location tho...

I've had an account with them for over 10 years and I would never bank anywhere else. I always enjoy going in because of how friendly and helpful the staff is. They always go above and beyond to help me with anything I need!

I recently closed my First Entertainment Credit Union account because of their dishonest and manipulative practices. I wanted to move my longstanding and already-matured CD account to a new account with a higher yield. The customer service woman was rude, condescending, and intentionally tried to obfuscate the terms of the higher yield account. This is the type of predatory behavior one would expect from a large Wall Street bank, not a credit union. Very disappointing.

I've been a member at this credit union for years and until now have been satisfied with my banking experience. BUT I WOULD NEVER GO TO THEM FOR A CREDIT CARD: In December I applied for, and was approved for, a credit card. I planned ahead to receive this in time for a purchase I needed to make on February 1. After nearly 8 weeks I have yet to receive the physical card, and when I've called to speak to an account manager, they have been unable to provide a solution. Needless to say, I was unable to make the purchase using this line of credit, and because I had already accepted the line of credit, could not shop my loan around elsewhere. After 6 phone calls I have received only 1 returned call AND no solution. Absolutely unacceptable.

I am trying to add my mom to my account. I sent in the notarized form they requested. i verified that they received it in the headquarters location. They stated that they will add her by end of day, and it's been 4 days and she still have not been added. I also called customer service to speak with the local branch and got a third-party customer service and they told me it will take 24 hours for someone to call me about the matter. This type of service is not normal for a bank. It feels like the i am getting the service of a prepaid card company not a bank. I'm not sure if i even want them to handle my money anymore.

The Burbank branch of First Entertainment Credit Union has been an asset to my personal & business growth. The team members at this branch are knowledgable, friendly, kind and compassionate. From new accounts for employees to personal and auto loans, this branch has helped us grow as a business and a team. The online portal makes it easy to transfer funds, check balances, monitor credit scores, receive direct deposits and more! Online bill pay, auto withdraws, and adding memos to checks make it easy to separate expenses for tax purposes. They have programs to reduce debt and increase credit scores...plus low balance credit cards to start building credit from scratch. This Bank, and this branch, has small town values, good vibes, and the desire to help make your banking experience the best it can be.
