We started business around 1993 or 94, and Canoteck was one of our first business partner-vendors. Both companies were small and independent. We've both grown since then - from copiers to printers to service contracts and advice about technology, Thomas and Aline have been there for us - never pushy, always available. They kept our two now old Xerox solid ink printers running for many years until the oldest one was declared out of warranty by Xerox. Canoteck never pushed us to buy a new printer, but they were very good at helping us choose a new one and learn to use all its many new features. They are quick and reliable when anything breaks down, and always willing to answer phone calls and/or emails as soon as we ask. I highly recommend them!

Aline has been helpful, responsive and has gone out of her way to provide the utmost in service. Canotek has saved me money and time by replacing my old color copier with a Xerox Phaser 7800. The quality and ease of use of the new machine is great, but their service and technicians are even better!!!

My printer was in perfect working condition except for a paper jam that I could not clean out. The technician came out to my location and fixed the jam. I was very happy. Then he started to tell me I had many problems with the printer and I would need to replace the Paper Size Sensor Board, Bypass Roller, Bypass Separation Pad, and Fuser Unit Original. Adding up to $300.00. Since the printer worked perfectly before the paper jam I began to suspect a scam. I asked for a quote on the replacement parts. The next day the printer started to act up. When I opened the top Toner Door I found it broken. When I called Nora to report the broken toner she told me that the Technician said the Toner Door was broken when he got there. Clearly he lied. I would think that if indeed my Toner Door was broken he would have asked me if I wanted it repaired too. My perfect printer is now a piece of junk heading to the recycle center.

I asked Canoteck for a third opinion on an old Xerox printer I had that would not start. The printer always gave me the same error message. Based on the error message, two other printer repair shops told me that I it wasn't worth it to repair the printer. Canoteck told me the error could be one of several different problems and that I should bring the printer in to have it inspected (for $50). I brought it in and had them inspect it. Sure enough, they came up with the same diagnosis the other two repair shops had, and told me repairs would cost at least $400. About the cost of a new printer. There probably never was a cost-effective way to repair it. The inspection was probably a dead end from the outset. It's likely Canoteck knew this in the first place. I brought this up several times. I asked if they could reduce the inspection fee. They refused. I went in knowing my odds weren't good, but hoping that they might have some special knowledge or technique they could use to do a cost-effective repair. They didn't. It seems likely that they had me bring it in just to charge me the inspection fee. When I pointed out that there was really no positive outcome for me or the printer, they insisted on collecting the whole fee anyway. I went ahead and paid, but I think they were not acting as honest brokers. If I could have looked up the Xerox error codes myself and known the cost of the repairs indicated, I wouldn't have brought it in. I don't recommend taking your printer in for repairs at Canoteck.
