Went here for two days in a row one day for 6 hours and 7 hours for the next. Went with my 10 year old son. 90% of the crew are super nice. But there are a couple of older white ladies who seem to think it's the good old south and treat the volunteers like slaves. They lack the basic decency and communication skills. Since they have been around for years, no one seems to want to speak up against them. I watched them treat volunteers slaves and said something inappropriate to me and I told her that "you cannot speak to me like that and leave me alone" . Well I let that go kept working. The last straw was when one of these older white ladies turned on my 10 year old son. By this time we had been working for 7 hours and my son had been doing way more work than most of the adults. I cannot stand there and let this lady to talk down to my son. So we just walked out. This lady managed turn, what was to us a wonderful experience to something ugly and wicked. I had to speak up for my son and for myself, specifically when it was totally uncalled for. This is 2021 Los Angeles, not a plantation in the 1700. Surprised this kind of behavior is still allowed to happen. The rest of the folks were super nice, friendly and made things fun.

I had the opportunity to meet the crew working on the Burbank float months before it would be completed. I had to see it on TV once it was finished but it was a great experience. Thank you to the team and I hope to see you again soon.
