Their moon cakes are smaller than most and overpriced. The quality is not up to par with other moon cakes from competing bakeries. These have more chemical additives, shock would be expected in commercial American factory made cakes. Buying moon cakes from small mom & pop bakeries is the best bet to get excellent quality, size, price, without added chemicals.

Today opened a bag of sweet rice 5lbs, and found a big chunk of thick nylon robe inside. How did it get into this bag ? Should Walong have any quality control? Is the bag of rice still safe to eat ? See two pictures. I gave two stars because that's the first time to see this other products still OK.

Walong Marketing Inc. shares a common HQ address with 99 Ranch Market in Buena Park, Ca. Walong Marketing also has warehouses in various locations throughout the U.S., coincidentally in areas where Ranch 99 Markets are located. Walong Marketing distributes it's products to 99 Ranch Market and whomever wants it via it's own fleet of trucks. Walong Marketing has factories in various Asian countries where they source, import, and manufacture products to USDA HAACP specifications so these products can be sold in the u.s.a. Walong Marketing's product catalogue probably runs into the thousands. (including products manufactured and products sourced from other manufacturers). no way i would have tried them all nor would i try. note: 99 Ranch Market and Walong Marketing has an overlap in some executive officers

Shao Hsing rice wine is a popular wine in Asian cooking...not only Chinese or Taiwanese but Thai, Vietnamese cooking as well. The Japanese tend to use saki in their recipes. The wine is also a popular drink especially in the winter time. The most famous of this particular wine is Zhejiang Gu Yue Long Shan Shaoxing Wine Co., Ltd. (å¤è¶Šé¾å±±). I've actually never seen this particular brand of wine in the states or at least in Atlanta. Shao Hsing rice wine is made from brown rice and aged about 10 years. It has similar taste to cherry and is often sold in the US with salt added otherwise people would need to go to a liquor store to purchase it as it has between 14-20% alcohol proof. The reason it is called Shao Hsing is because it is named after the city itself which is located in the eastern providence of China known as Zen Jiang. Even though there are other players in this space still 70% of this particular wine known in Chinese as "yellow wine" is still make in Shao Hsing. Here is an interesting first hand account about Shao Hsing wine making I've been using Walong's version of Shao Hsing wine for many years and have been quite happy with it. They're particularly good for marinating meats and a must if you are making Hong Kong drunken chicken....here is a good recipe for it if you're interested... 1387th review 6/18/2018 307th for 2018
