I just came in the store to buy something to drink, a sports drink, the owner there tall korea n man smiled nice enough. I asked him if they except ebt. He said "yes" then asked me "what are you going to buy with it". I looked at him puzzled and said "something to drink" and looked toward the refrigerator section to the right of me. He then said "o well some people come in here and try to buy alcohol and and beer all the time with there ebt". I laughed and said "really?" "Well that's not me, you can't even buy that stuff with ebt". Well anyway I ignored that as just a normal thing and he is just making sure. But that should have been a red flag! So I go to hand him my ebt card and he looks at me strange. Now I understand why: a week ago my son and I where playing i had the card in my pocket and it broke right down the middle. Not having time because I work all day to go get a new one i used two card size stickers to tape it together. It actually looks pretty cool. Anyways I explain to him this. And he says " I'm sorry I can't take this." I said to him "why not?" He said "how do I know it's your card!" I said "because when you swipe it i will enter the pin." He said "I need to check that the name on the card matches your id." I said "are you kidding me." "How would I know the pin if it wasn't mine." He ask me "who's name is on the card" i said "my wife." He said "oh no no no I can't take this." I said "so what you want my wife to come here and show you her id" he said "yes." (Lets pause for a second) Now I am a nice guy, I have three kids under 6 at home I've worked hard my whole life i recently went threw a rough patch my wife and I both lost are jobs months apart from each other in working now but things are tight! I am not taking advantage of the system i pay taxes and have paid them for 23 years i am 35. If I need help that is what this is here for so I got pissed. I told him he was being racist or something. I told him and the younger gentleman there maybe it was his son that "if I was Korean you would not treat me this way." He said "a Korean wouldn't use ebt." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I said "if lose my card no one could use it unless they know the pin." "So how do I know the pin" I said? They starting coming up with all these reasons why. BS! I told the guy I was going to file a complaint against the store and I hope they take away there ebt program. I started to walk away because I was so angry and frustrated. Then I turn back around and walked up and peeled the sticker back the best way I could to show them its broken! Also somewhere in there I also said "how would you know if my name was Chris, John, Edward, or whoever." "There is no law stating that I need to show my i d anywhere using my ebt." I have 3 kids and a wife i lost my house and my job that I used to work for screwed me over and now I'm in a bad situation that I've never thought I would be in. And this guy is giving me carp over a taped up ebt for two sports drinks. After I spilled my guts he swipe my card I took my goods and continue d to talk to the younger guy who told me it has nothing to do with race and he believes me. The older man could care less i felt. I got a little mad at my self for losing my cool but I am really just disappointed in just the way people who need help are treated. I get people are lazy and use the system but even the first thing he said to me about buying alcohol with ebt shows me his view on people who use it. If he looks down on people who do, then why have you been taking the money for 10 years. You open your shop in the not

No prices on anything so they can charge whatever they want and you'll never know. Also they have an ID policy even for debit cards. Walked over there and was turned down since I did not have my ID card for my debit card. I tried to explain to they guy that the pin # is the ID / security. I've never had to show ID when using a debit card before. Oh well, there are other of places around the area that are just as good if not better.

This place has been around for along time, I miss the days when Richard was there to greet you with a smile. Service now, not so much, but they are open late.
