BED BUGS ! The bed was infested with bed bugs. The whole experience was traumatizing for our family. It took over a month for the bug bites to heal.
The hotel overall was outdated, and the pool was very dirty.

This was not up to standards I was expecting from Marriot at all. First room was given to us was horrible. The toillet flush was not working, the room had a bad smell and the floor was not very clean. The second room given to us had a blood stain on one of the pillows but we did not bother changing the room yet again as we were too tired and needed to settle down. As a compensation for our bad experience they offered us complemantory breakfast, however the quality of service and the food was horrible. They were clearly understaff and could not handle the guests properly. Many breakfast items were out and took them a very long time to restock. Out of butter, yugurt, bread, syrup, bacon, .... the list goes on and on. The scambled eggs too cold and dry. We had to chase down the waiter for coffee refills ....

We came from out of town for a wedding at the Roblar Winery. I am a Marriott Member so I decided to stay there. THIS place needs an UPDATE big time! We got one room-not good-we asked for another room-smelt like mold (Room 305) then asked for another room-it was much better but the shower curtain had a blood stain on it and the room was dirty! There are cans and Gatorade bottles under the couch in Room 259. Not as clean as I thought it would be. The owner (this is a franchise) of this one needs to update it cuz it needs it! The Hampton is across the street and is cheaper AND provides breakfast for free! I should of stayed there but you know-I wanted to points! I paid $868 for TWO nights in May!! If I ever come to this part of the world again I will be staying at the Hampton! ;) There is an employee that was amazing though and his name was Juan-front desk! He was awesome and should be commended!!

Just coming back from an international trip and staying at Marriotts properties my excitement staying at Santa Ynez Valley was overshadowed by sub-par breakfast buffet. The price I paid for the room and the quality of the room was at best mediocre. It’s a shame that the service and properties internationally are much better in quality than here at the Santa Ynez Valley property.

It was nice to receive friendly and good service.
The rooms are very well organized and the bedding is clean and nice.
There is a restaurant, fitness center, swimming pool and jacuzzi on the first floor, so it is convenient to use.

A friend and I stopped here on our way to Solvang. We were initially super excited to stay here but the stay ended up being rather disappointing. So, the smart tv never loaded Netflix or connected to Wi-Fi. We tried calling staff to help connect it but no luck. It would’ve been nice if they could have offered to put us in a different room but they didn’t bother. Then I accidentally left my straightener (totally my fault) in one of the cupboards in the bathroom before we checked out. We left and when I realized this, I immediately called the hotel. They said they would try looking for it and give me a call back. On the phone they said the staff never saw it (unfortunately a lie), i never saw the straightener again, and they did not, in fact follow up. I made a stop at the hotel the next day to see if maybe being in person would offer better luck, which it did not. They again offered to call me back to follow up after searching some more, but I haven’t heard back from them. For such a large corporate establishment, I’m very disappointed in Marriott. Will unfortunately not be staying here again.

Very disappointed in what was once a great getaway Marriott. Hotel is but a shadow of its former self. Reception staff at check in was indifferent and more focused on a previous call than even acknowledging my presence. Staff at checkout wasn't interested in in hearing my concerns about the breakfast issues I though they should know about. Breakfast staff was and helpful. Unfortunately, they have eliminated the area where they once served omelets and eggs to order, replacing it with a pan of cold, coagulated, scrambled mess. French toast was equally cold and the syrup was so chilled that it wouldn't come out of dispenser. Waiter offered to replace it with Sugar Free packets. Breakfast at the Fairfields are far superior and tastier than what this Marriott offers for $20. Two stars is generous for what we experienced last weekend. Won't be back.

Great hotel. Excellent service by Juan. However they do not have the great mattresses usually associated with marriott. Mattress was very firm for us. Ended up with a back ache.

Hands down...the nastiest Mariott I've ever seen...and I'm an Ambassador Elite. I have seen MANY different Marriott hotels...and this one is the absolute worst. The room is old and stinky. Don't stay here. Go anywhere else. I plan to call corporate.

We stayed in this hotel for family vacation but our experience was horrible. Rooms are not clean at all with spider cobs every where around the room. We went to hotels restaurant, we order for simple Avocado sandwich, the order took more than 1hr to come to our table and the sandwich that came was horrible and it was expensive. With that money we could have bought big sandwich. Will not recommend anyone. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

1. The room was not clean. Found trash both on the floor and in the trash can upon entering. Such much for having a clean room. 2. The door privacy door latch stuck and upon further inspection, it wasn't the first time as the door frame had screws on just on that side of the door frame suggesting something similar had occurred before. 3. No sense of privacy and confidentially when the front desk agent revealed our identity to other guests when our dog was barking a lot. Our dog doesn't usually bark unless people start knocking at the door and even slipping notes. So we do apologize for the barking but the dog was provoked all the more. However, it is TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL for the agent to reveal us. An official complaint will be submitted.

This Marriott experience is disappointing. It's 7:55 pm, and our room hasn't been cleaned. When we called, the staff mentioned that their cleaning persons are on lunch (at 7:55pm) and won't be back for another 30 minutes. She sounded rude and not apologetic at all, and with a tired 2-year-old, we now have to wait for the cleaning and then leave the room until it's finished. Worst service ever here! Also when we checked in, the heater was broken. They came in to fix it the next day. We had a pretty cold first night.
