Such an awesome facility and great group of people. I moved out due to downsizing and was actually sad to do so. I honestly can't speak more highly of Santa Ynez Self Storage :)

We've been using Santa Ynez self storage off and on for the last five years it's great location, secure, and easy access from the 246 hwy. Katie and her staff is always very friendly and very helpful with any needs or accommodations we have needed Throughout the years. I highly recommend this storage company for any Storage needs you may have.

This is the second time I've rented a storage unit from Santa Ynez Self-Storage in the past few years. I checked rates of other storage facilities and both times SY Self-Storage had the best rate for the size unit that I needed. Staff was/is always helpful, friendly, and flexible.

Exercise caution before choosing this storage facility. Unfortunately, we faced a severe rodent infestation, and the staff's response was both unprofessional and unsympathetic. They made us feel like we purposely created the rodent situation for some sort of financial gain. I'm an expecting mother and the rats soiled and created nests in the majority of all our baby things from our previous child (see pictures), not to mention many other personal items. Thousands of dollars worth of damage that need to be replaced and the storage unit told us this type of damage isn't covered under the contract signed when you agree to place your things with them (clause 9 specifically). The lack of empathy for the matter is one thing, but the lack of decency to actually have a conversation with us about it is another. We walked through our unit with a man named Pikey to show them our damage and he acknowledged the extent of how bad it was. From that point forward, they dodged our calls, and when we would speak to someone or show up in person to try to come to some sort of resolve, they would give us the runaround. That went on for over a month before the manager, Katie Acre sent us an email saying they weren't going to cover any of the damage and it was on us to take out insurance for storing things in their facility (something they don't disclaim when you're signing the agreement). In addition to this, she also denied that there was a hole in our storage unit or any signs of rodents in our unit in her email reply after having their "pest control" inspect the unit aka maintenance man and found no such evidence. Considering we had to throw away 30% of our things and cleaned out the rest to avoid any further damage after the walk through, why would they find signs beyond that point? The one very apparent sign they're blatantly denying is that there's a hole in the bottom unit which we were able to see from walking in the unit and closing the doors when dark after moving our things out.
Their evasive behavior, denial of evident issues, and lack of empathy have left us extremely frustrated and facing substantial financial losses. The failure to disclose important terms adds to our disappointment.
Prospective customers, beware, and consider alternative storage options to avoid a similar distressing experience.

Do not trust your property or the staff at Santa Ynez Self Storage. My wife and I stored our baby clothes and various baby items in one of their smaller units. Upon a visit, we found rodent droppings on some of our items. Upon further inspection, we found rat nests, rat feces and a dead rat in the boxes storing our baby's items. When we spoke to the manager, they said that it must have been our fault and they would do nothing to help reimburse our now destroyed items. This is after finding an access hole into the storage unit which would allow the rodents to access the contents. The reason we live in a small town is largely for its close knit community which helps each other succeed. Santa Ynez Self storage is the antithesis of these values blaming their clients for their failures. Again, do not trust your property or that staff at Santa Ynez Self Storage.

the two women that work there are not friendly. also, this place is extremely over priced and they do not prorate if you need less than a month. i'll look elsewhere next time storage is needed. facility is clean and well kept though.

Moved out of state sent payment to wrong address would not work with me and sold all that I owned. Will never recommend to anybody. Absolutely devastating!! Lost thousands!!!! And I never received any personal items from management. So much personal family heir looms. Heartbroken!!

I has such a positive experience when I stored my stuff here. They were so friendly and they even let me use their truck to move in. I'll be back if I ever need storage.
