“Wasn’t too crowded when I went at 8:30am on a Thursday. They use an app called PayRange which you can use to pay for the washer and dryer. If you want detergent or dryer sheets you should bring your own or bring change. The detergent dispenser only takes coins. And the change machine only takes bills. I accidentally loaded $25 on to pay range and they refunded me in seconds. I had to pay twice for a washer load because it didn’t start the first time and they refunded me for that too. Good experience over all.”

“I started coming to A-1 Cleaners when I first moved to Burlingame 7 years ago and continue to use them, even when I moved away to South San Francisco a year ago.
The reason I make the trip down to Burlingame for them is because their quality service and hospitality is like no other place I’ve encountered on the Peninsula. The trip is also worth my peace of mind because I know my clothes will be perfect and in tact!”
“I love this cobbler! They are an adorable family that pays close attention to detail, cares a lot about customer service and offers reasonable prices. I brought a pair of long black boots that kept breaking and the Cobbler team fixed them. When they broke again, they fixed them again for free! I highly recommend this place for any shoe fixing needs.”
“I don't write a lot of reviews, but these folks deserve one. The suit I bought when I got married 20 years ago still fits great except the pants (as these things go). I want to be able to wear it again, so I took the pants to J's. The gentleman had me try them on and saw they needed to be let out about 3" (eek!). But sadly, he pointed out there was maybe 1.75" of fabric on the seam. He discouraged me a bit, saying he didn't think he could make it happen. His partner then came out and they discussed. They concluded it was questionable at best. I asked them to "do the best you can" and also resolved to diet/de-bloat a bit during the week they had them.
When I picked them up, PERFECTION! They used what fabric was there, plus he told me "I moved the buttons a little for you, too." Now I can actually wear my suit! $25 well worth it! Highly recommend!!”
“Monique did an INCREDIBLE job altering my
wedding dress and I would recommend her to anyone! She was able to shape the body of my dress and hem it and it looks better than I could have ever imagined! She did this also in a timely manner (6-8 weeks) for a very affordable price (less than $200). So glad I found her on Reddit and I’m so excited to wear my dress on the big day!”

“My go to dry cleaners. They do a great job and I always know I can trust them with my clothes.They are temporarily closed May - Sept 2023 for earthquake retrofit (mandated by the city) which is a bummer! Will have to find another place in the mean time”
“Very honest, kind, wash and fold service. First place which offered to weigh after wash and dry (clothes weigh more before this). We paid upfront so could be picked up by courier after. Everything was folded and packed perfectly. Recommended.”

“This was one of my favorite experiences, not because it was proximite. Not because they did the best job of any cleaner I've ever known, and I live in Tiburon and still opted to come down here when I would work from my Peninsula office. It was that good.But the 5 stars was for Jeff. I wanted to leave this here before a new owner comes in. Jeff always had a smile, always remembered your name, asked questions about life, and over the last 20 years became a good friend, a constant before, during, and after the pandemic, and I only wish I could have said goodbye. Taken from us far too young, a major life experience for me, and a major source of joy, will be leaving with Jeff, and if any of his family or friends were to research him, in this time of grieving, I wanted this out there that he was a major impact on our community, a shining light of friendly and kind spirit, and a wonderful business owner that added so much to our little San Mateo. “Top Hat is the friendliest and kindest place to have cleaning and mending done I've encountered on the peninsula and most probably in my life. Their fees are always more than reasonable and they have mended for me jackets, shirts, pants and backpacks on top of all the dry cleaning I send them.”
“So last week I went to 3 other cleaners and none of them would take my coat, it's an expensive coat and I needed to fix 2 patches my dog did. So I understood why they didn't feel comfortable. She took it, looked at it, seen the damage, gave me a solution, and 1 week later, u can't even tell at all my coat had alterations done. Awesome, amazing job. Best cleaners in San Francisco. Better than the one on Leland, Mission, and Geneva.”

“I don't really write reviews but, this laundry mat saved my life. One of the machines broke on me which me going back to get quarters and such would have made me late on a critical day for work. The gorgeous lady Kira saved the day. She not only got me a new machine that had a bulk order already in it but made sure I didn't have to re pay for the drying. She even offered to take it out for me(I didn't think it necessary) thank you so much my laundry mat hero Kira.”

Library is up the street.Get your clothes clean, errands done, grab a bite or beverage.Laundromat has staff on site. They do a great job of staying on top of everything.Bench outside provides places to sit and wait for machines in the fresh air.”
