I enrolled my youngest son with Genius Kids when he was 4 months old, in April of 2019. I had anxiety looking for a place since my oldest son was able to be with family until about 2 year old, and as any mother will agree, leaving your child with someone else for care can be difficult. My husband and I looked at a few places in Brentwood, with Genius Kids being the last. After leaving Genius Kids, we knew it was the place for our baby. Genius Kids felt homely, unlike the other care centers we visited, with bright colors everywhere. The teachers and care givers, especially Ro, were warm and welcoming, and were great partners in care for our son. Any time there was a concern (such as the first day he attended where they couldn't calm his crying), they promptly would reach out to us, discuss the situation and we would decide on the best course of action.I constantly received feedback regarding my son's development, his likes and dislikes. They recently implemented a new system through Brightwheel (also mobile app), where communication became even easier with the messaging capabilities. I could simply send a message to the Center (or vice versa) and get a prompt response back. This app also notifies you in real time when the child is checked in/out which relieved a lot of stress when other family members would need to take him to or pick up from day care due to my work schedule.Since this is a newer Center, and they were building up enrollment, personnel seemed to change a bit more than what I experienced with my older son years ago. The key people were consistent (like Ro and TJ), however there was a bit more change in providers that may make people uncomfortable. I personally trusted everyone and never had a concern, but I know turnover might be a consideration families factor in with their decision. I'm not sure if that has changed now due to COVID-19, so I would recommend following up with the Center as needed.Due to circumstances regarding COVID-19, I had to withdraw my son as of June 1st, 2020. I was sad to withdraw him but look forward to re-enrolling him once everything returns back to normal. I have recommended Genius Kids to family and friends looking for care, and I would still recommend them now.
