Do not buy their hamburger. They sold me rotten hamburger on purpose and they put red dye on it to make it look like it's still good. This place is disgusting they should be ashamed of themselves do not do business with FoodMaxx. They do not care if you get sick or what's in that red dye that they put on their meat.

Went today to exchange a bottle of rum witch my husband bought by mistake not knowing we have it at home .. we wanted to exchange it not returned it .. bottle is sealed unopened and we have the receipt he purchased today 9/16 in the morning. The “manager “ said no because is a California law that prohibits the return of alcohol!!! What? Is the most dumb excuse I ever heard!Search for returning alcohol in California..(In summary, to return alcohol in California, it must be unopened, in its original packaging, and accompanied by a receipt. Some retailers may charge a restocking fee, and cash refunds may not always be available. Perishable items cannot be returned, and the alcohol must be in a sealed and unopened container.)We wanted to exchange it not refund!!Called FoodMaxx in Antioch and the manager said yeah no problem just make sure to bring your receipt!Call BevMo.. no problem you just have to bring a receipt!!! ( I asked what’s the policy to return alcohol)Sr. Who ever you are I’m sure you are not a Manager! But if you are … You need to read your own store policies to provide a good customer service!!

I went to this location on 9/14/23 around 3:30 pm to get some groceries for the week. I come to food maxx for the convenience as it is close to my home and the prices are always fair. I completed my shopping and went to the check out line to pay and leave. The cashier Bibi was helping us. He was very kind and this review is in no way a reflection of him, he was great. While he was checking us out he was having technical problems with the scale on his check stand, it wasn't recording the weight. He called for his manager NANCY for assistance. When she heard his request for help she openly told him (in front of customers and children) to "F*** off." I could not believe what I was hearing from her mouth. The cashier Bibi looked extremely uncomfortable with her response, as were we the paying customers. She eventually came over to help begrudgingly and with the nastiest attitude toward her employee and us the customers. She took our item to weigh at a different stand. After she got the weight of our item (onions) she threw them at my husband exclaiming "Here do you want your onions". I commend the cashier for keeping his professional demeanor in front of the customers, I can not say the same about Nancy. In my opinion she is creating a hostile work environment. If she says these things in front of dozens of people, imagine what she says when no one else is around. Nancy needs to be retrained on customer relations and demoted until she learns how to be a decent boss. I will be sticking with Walmart from now on for affordable groceries.

I think this store is really awesome, it's in-between a Safeway and Costco pricing wise, but the flow of the store could make it a more attractive place to shop if the rearrange some things to help with flow! Placements of certain goods and aisles, but a really good store to shop at close to home! ??????

This store is organized so interesting. Took forever to find just a few things. Had to ask a few staff, still wasn't able to find what I needed. Prices were pretty reasonable.

2 Stars for "Freshness": Usually items that are nearing their expiration date are placed on sale or clearance? I have noticed on many account and only after I get home that an item os about to expire in 72 hours, I then take a look at the rest of my groceries that have expiration dates and am dumbfounded that's it's at least 50% of everything I bought! And at full price? I only buy from this store out of convenience, but if I want groceries that aren't about to expire, I go to WINCO or Safeway. l would love to patronize this store more often, but I'm not going to pay full price for old products. Example of the latest experience: opened up a bag of lays potato chips and they were stale upon opening up the bag? I opened up a can of Frito Lay bean dip: it had weird bubbles on the top and tasted sour? American consumers deserve better. So do better?

Miss leading advertising within their mediocre app. It's not the store employees fault it's thier crooked corporate structure. They are the only grocery store that I can think of around here that constantly miss leads customer's with their in app advertising. Perfect example they had purchase two 6 packs of bottled Coke products and the app coupon said good for 2 uses. So you'd think well I'll purchase 2 today and come back and purchase another 2 before the coupon expires. Well it's still showing in the app on my phone and today I went in to buy the other two ✌️ 6 packs and it didn't work. The poor cashier had to say it's only good one time. Each 6 pack is counted as a single purchase and when I bought the first two 6 packs I in fact used up the 2 uses of the coupon.. That's totally miss leading. If the coupon is only good one time then it should not show up in your app again after I clipped it and used it already... I'm done with Food Maxx.

Definitely less crowded than the Concord location I usually have to shop at & the addition of Self-checkout is a HUGE plus, but they didn't carry one of the products I specifically went to buy, which Concord usually has, so that's why the 4 stars, instead of 5.
