Dr. Olsen at Brentwood Veterinary Hospital (BVH) makes assumptions rather than doing thorough examinations on pets. After my dog was diagnosed by her with Cushing's in January, I brought to her attention that his abdomen was contracting very hard when he breathed. Dr. Olsen said it was a form of painting attributed to the Cushing's. When I originally took him to BVH in January my dog started to display symptoms of Cushing's, the examining doctor (who was not Dr. Olsen) included an ultrasound on my quote; however, when I brought my dog in for the testing the following week, Dr. Olsen for some reason opted not to do the ultrasound. Fast forward to July, I rushed my doggie to the emergency hospital to find out that he had a grade 5 heart murmur, and that the adrenal tumor causing the Cushing's was so large it was obstructing his kidney. As a result, he was in stage 4 kidney failure. The ultrasound would have likely detected this 6 months earlier and I would have opted to remove the adrenal tumor. I took my dog back to BVH after he was discharged from the emergency hospital for follow-up testing and care, and once again, Dr. Olsen cut corners when it came to diagnosis testing and made rush decisions that ultimately ended my dogs life. She injected a diuretic into an already severely dehydrated dog in stage 4 kidney failure who was not properly eating or drinking after I had just paid for my dog to spend 3 consecutive days at BVH to receive IV fluids. The next day, I received a text message from BVH asking how my dog was doing, I responded that he was not doing well and that he wasn't drinking enough water to counter the effects of the diuretic. I received no response. The following day, I rushed my dog back to emergency after he collapsed from dehydration and he passed away. This was 2 days after a follow up visit to BVH where Dr. Olsen injected Lasix into my dog after attributing his labored breathing to fluid in the lungs. The emergency hospital informed me that my doggie had no fluids in his lungs but his breathing was still labored. The same labored breathing that I brought to Dr. Olsen's attention back in February after he was back in her care for blood work after initial January Cushing's diagnosis. $7,000 in 3 weeks and I lost my dog 2 days after a follow up visit to Dr. Olsen. And to top it off, when I sent an email to BVH the day after my dog's passing to cancel a forthcoming follow up appointment and inform them that he had passed, I got no response from anyone at BVH. No condolences, no confirmation; nothing. I will forever regret taking my precious dog to BVH. I will love and miss him forever.

By far the best vet we have taken any of our animals too. Very knowledgeable and caring of animals. Communication was top notch and their pricing was perfect.

If I could give zero stars I would. They charged us almost $900.00 and could not give any sort of diagnosis as to what was going on with our cat. We changed his food and he was fine. This place is a complete rip off and prey on people who are worried about their pets trying to up sell us non stop over the phone and told us they could squeeze us in but did not tell us they would be charging us an extra $150 for it? Beyond disappointed and just absolutely disgusted. Honestly, I think I'm going to call the BBB and let them know what's going on here. After reading other reviews it looks like we are not the only ones who they have done this to. Update- So we reached out a few days after and spoke to an office manager and were told that there was nothing they could do as that is there process and practices? This place is just not a place. Again, left us just with just disgusted, disappointed, and extremely costly experience.

I can't thank the staff enough for saving my daughters dog. I rushed him in for an emergency and her dog is not a registered patient there. He was having difficulty breathing and 2 staff members rushed out to my car to start assessing him. Then took him straight into a room. They immediately started working on him. Thank you so much for not only being great at your job but also caring for any animal that is in need of help!

Doctors.are great. Service has deteriorated q lot. Not sure of the people behind the scenes changed. My wife was few minutes late for an appointment and they charged a no-show fee. There has been numerous times when we had appointment and were made to wait for upto an hour. So, we changed our loyalty to a different place.

We have found our FOREVER Vet today! Brentwood Veterinary thank you for listening to me and my dog's needs and for taking the time to gain Rebel's trust before examining him. Vet tech Hollie and Dr. Demathieu it's obvious you enjoy your jobs because you care! Not only for my baby but actually asking me how I was doing ( knowing what we went through with the previous Vet) to ask how I'm personally doing went very far. Thank you again and keep being YOU!!!

Bunch of thieves. Took my dogs there for a long time. Would tell me they did tests on my dogs and never should the results. The last time I took my dog for the same thing they told me didn't go far enough for the test the first time so I would have to pay them $1100.00 to get the test done. I requested the results which was sent to me and it was the same test they apparently did the first time which I was charged $850.00 for. Also my dog had foot issues which they said was fox tail. The 1st time I was charged around $700.00 and when I took him back under a month later and they said they didn't go far enough so there maybe more and can't help with the bill. JUST THIEVES. DON'T GO THERE IF YOU WANT YO HELP YOUR PET.

We recently, had to have our Beautiful 11 yr old Bengal, kitty Tia, put to sleep, on Nov 30...after contemplating, the issue, for a month, of hoping Tia, would recover. We were met, by a Tiny Asian girl, who, was so sweet, knowledgeable, and compassionate, who explained, the procedure to us along with the options, too. After giving Tia, an anesthetic to calm her, down, before the rest of the procedure, We were given Tia, to hold, pet, love and say goodbye, then the final dose was injected, and Tia, passed away peacefully, in my arms..Although, the experience, was painful, for us, Tia passed, peacefully, knowing she was in my arms...Thank you so much, for your compassion, love and caring, for our Babies, that cannot speak for themselves...
