My 1988 Ford 5-speed manual transmission vehicle was in need of its' shift linkage bushings being replaced. Several local auto repair shops were not interested in this work. Fortunately, I contacted A-1 transmission who could not do an upfront quote for the repair on an old car but took the car in and contacted me after they had a chance to look at it. Replaced the bushings in a day at a good price. I've driven it now for two months, about 1000 miles, shifts into gear like new. Recommend this shop for any work related to transmissions or shifting issues, as in my case. I plan to return again for my CV axle drive shaft replacement, so look for a new review on that experience.

Went for a quote to get my transmission rebuilt, & the guy acted like it was a chore for me to be there (it was over an hour until they closed). I normally work on my own cars but anything internal in a trans I wouldn't want to be apart of. For some reason didn't believe me that it was broken until he drove it. Couldn't even give me a quote or a rough estimate. Gave him my phone number & name and haven't heard from him in over a week. Go to somewhere that wants your business.
