My experience is from a few years back and I finally decided to share our review. Worst, as in absolutley WORST tax person (owner) and company we have ever worked with. Didn't file taxes timely, multiple mistakes made, had to chase them down to return phone calls and pick up taxes...it was just HORRIBLE!!! Unbelievable...most bizarre company we have ever worked with. Complete lack of professionalism...recommendations were all over the roadmap and inconsistent...and then how do you just NOT call people back...for weeks!!! Be forwarned!! You will see many of the same reviews...something is just way off with this company.

I have great customer services here as well as No Hidden fees or guessing games on what I will pay to get my taxes done. Gabe is AWESOME!

I do recommend this business as the employees are kind and courteous. They answered my questions immediately and when I couldn't figure out how to get to the parking lot, someone came out to find me. Turns out I was just over the curb at the store right along side their building. (how embarrassing!) Be aware, that this tax service is better suited for the wealthier population or businesses. That said, if I ever win the lottery, I'll go back there! :)

We were referred here as our last tax person was not really doing anything for us that we couldn't do ourselves. Unfortunately after filing our taxes, we received a letter from the IRS needing paperwork. After NUMEROUS attempts to contact RD Tax Service, leaving messages, emails and even going to the office(closed at 11:30AM) we decided to handle this matter ourselves. I thought wen you paid to have taxed done, they should also be willing to help with any issues afterwards. We will not be returning.

I was referred by current client who had great reviews, however, I unfortunately, will never know after leaving two messages and no call backs, just for a consultation. Time is now of the essence, so going elsewhere on another referral.

Based on my experience, this is a small business who lacks the resources to handle new customers and their needs. I reached out to obtain a price quote, dropped off last years taxes, and scheduled a Zoom meeting to meet and greet their staff, review last years tax forms, and address any concerns for our upcoming taxes. The end result was their staff's absence at the meeting and failure to contact us before hand, which was all owed to a misunderstanding with the dropped off tax documents. After trying to schedule a 2nd meeting and calling to share my concerns about my first impressions of their company, the owner handled my feedback with defensive, condescending, and rude remarks. I would strongly not recommend this business based on their level of customer service and disorganized communication process.

Very disappointed in RD Tax Services and am reporting them to the BBB. At a time of my family's greatest need and crisis, Debra Popovich (president) and Nancy Jimenez (office manager) have been completely neglectful in communication and action. When I have surprisingly gotten them on the phone it's promises of returned calls or "the taxes will be done this week" then silence and no follow through. This has been going on for months. UNACCEPTABLE and UNPROFESSIONAL.

I have been going to RD Tax Service for 15 years with Gabe as my accountant. I have always been able to depend on him 100% to assist me with any & all things financial. He works hard and is sufficient in all the services he provides. I always recommend him to any one I come across who is looking for tax services.

This was me and my husband's first time at RD Tax Service, and right away I could tell we were going to be regular customers! We received excellent and friendly service, and are so happy we found this place!

My family and I had used RD Tax for a few years and it was fine. I had my 2017 taxes filled incorrectly and when I brought it up (I have email chain to prove) Debra said she would amend them and take care of it. Then came months of radio silence. I was forced to contact another accountant to handle the amendment. Last week I had to go down to the IRS office to prove my identity. This was because they said they only received the amendment from the second company and thought it was fraudulent. So here I am two years later still dealing w this mess. I reached out to RD to inquire about the non submittal of my original tax return and to request a refund. They sent me a print out saying it was accepted (not a formal IRS document).Since then, they have been so busy (non tax season) to return emails (3) calls (3) and literally 0 response back minus a receptionist saying everyone is in meetings. Horrible customer experience and complete lack of respect for clients time and m. We will definitely not be using them and I would shop around if I were you.

So disappointed with the lack customer service and performance! I was referred to Debra Popovich due to an ongoing problem with my taxes from previous years. I made an appointment with her and before doing so, I informed the representative over the phone of my issue (I had a first time home buyers credit that continues to show that I owe after I paid it back about 4 years ago). The representative said that wouldn't be a problem and said they could work with the IRS getting it resolved. I continue with my appointment, back in late March and brought in my 2017 taxes to show that I've paid the tax credit back. Debra did not consider needing my 2017 taxes until after the fact and in May . . . Over one month later. I get an email from her saying that she needs my 2017 tax forms and quickly thereafter stated she did not need them and just the POA (Power of Attorney). Months go by with no update and in early September I email Debra asking for an update as I have heard nothing from her and my outstanding check and refund check are outstanding . . . I get no response for two weeks. I then call her office and leave a message with the receptionist . . . I get no response! I call a couple days later, leave another message with the receptionist who told me she will call me back in "5 minutes" No call back and continue to get blown off! Finally after several additional phone calls and hours later, I get an email which was attached to my email to her two weeks prior. No apology for not getting back to me or having ANY kind of explanation of what was taking so long. Debra tells me in the email that she needs my 2017 tax forms to complete my 2018 taxes . . . I am absolutely livid at this point and I had to pick up my tax forms and drop them off at her office . . . After already bringing them the first time, going back and forth about needing them and having nothing done for months! In addition to ALL of this, her service fee was triple what my former tax preparer charged!

Gabriel A. Alvara - Brea CA Tax Preparer at R&D tax service and Debra Popovich are the best. They care, work hard for you and take the time to understand. They have worked hard for me and I couldn't be more please with their help and profession service. Gabe has absolutely been awesome and works so hard to resolve any issue and make sure all issues are resolved. Couldn't be happier with the support and they are local here to Brea. Support them, you will not be disappointed! Dan
