I'm not surprised that this location has a 3.3 star rating. I called this morning and spoke to Janet, store manager. I was calling in regards to a return for a purchase that was made online. I tried to explain the reason for my return to Janet but she was so rude and unpleasant to talk to. I decided to call the Irvine Spectrum store and got such a different experience. The store associate I spoke to was so kind and pleasant, I was told to bring in the product and they would be more than happy to assist with the return. I read previous reviews, it looks like other customers have had the same unpleasant experience with Janet. Janet you need a lesson in good customer service skills!! I plan to call customer service so they are aware.

I went into the store over the holidays for some gifts and I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service. The store associate there was super helpful and very knowledgeable about the products. Def come here for any gifts you might need. They do a great job of wrapping them for you.

I love this store SO MUCH!!! Their products are absolutely amazing and the associates who work there are the best! Definitely would recommend to go here for skincare above all the other skincare stores in the mall! Also I had the most helpful L'Occitane associate help me, Hannah. She is so friendly and knowledgeable!! Shout out to her for helping me find my new favorite fragrance!!!!!!!

I have always loved L'occitane products which is why the Brea location takes it to the next level. The store associates are all so knowledgeable about the products and never fail to keep a warm and friendly atmosphere. Excellent store and quality products. 5 stars :)

I love this location! It's my go to store for all my skin care essentials. The girls always provide friendly service and will answer any questions you have. I have yet to have a bad experience at L'Occitane Brea!

This store offers some of the best products with the worst customer service. Their lotions and creams are some of the best, sadly the same can't be said for their service. First off, the hours on the door noted they were open until 8pm, but they decided to close at around 7 instead which I felt was strange for a non mom and pop store. I've come in here a few times but always got this vibe that the store employees were stuck up and racist. Everyone that walks in should be treated well regardless of their race or clothing. I've seen first hand a lack of acknowledgement from the Caucasian woman to customers that were not White- that's totally uncalled for. In addition, the Asian woman seemed to think she was above people as well and was totally rude- icing on the cake was when she picked up her personal cell phone and spoke in Mandarin in the middle of my transaction. Call me old school but I think good customer service requires undivided attention.. A little piece of humble pie, you both work in retail so let's not act like racist snobs because this will only deter customers and the less sales your store has the less likely you'll both have jobs for much longer. There's definitely room for improvement here and I hope to see it.

I went to this location, a tall Caucasian lady, who seems to be manager refused to exchange products I was gifted. I was given a cream, body wash and hand cream. I did not have a receipt or gift receipt. She said I could have bought the products at a discount store and brought it here to exchange. I was also told, that the products could have been purchased in a gift set, so they didn't know how to exchange it. They checked the yellow signature gift box for a bar code, She stated she couldn't trade it for same product in different scent because she didn't know how I got these products. First off, I was simply asking for a Scent exchange. I was willing to take the same product just a different scent. However, she treated me like I was a thief and previously stole from The store. How else would I get a bag, box and tissue paper from This store. Obviously, someone paid for this kind of gift and wrapping. The product I had was a current scent on the shelf, she could reshelve my product and sell it for full price for all I cared. I just wanted a different scent to try since I have never shopped here. I left the store upset, discriminated against and with no desire to ever shop here. I figured I'd try a different store to see if I got better treatment. I went to the Arcadia Mall store and they exchanged everything without hesitation or insinuating anything about me or how I got my product. I was very thankful to the ladies at the Arcadia store because they had great customer service.

Overall lack of grace and customer service. Buy your products at Nordstrom or Sephora. I didn't even get a hello; just a blank stare from three employees chatting amongst themselves.

The blond woman who has been working here in forever is just awful and borderline racist! When someone who happens to be Caucasian comes in, she immediately greets them and offers her assistant. However, any POC walks in the store, she ignores them and go on and about whatever she's keeping herself busy with. She is disrespectful and always make up excuses not to assist POC customers. Not really sure why she is still working in customer service when she doesn't offer any! BTW! According to her, you cannot return online items in store!!

Wow, came here to write about my negative experience with the store manager and was appalled at all the previous reviews who had the same run in with her. Store manager, I believe her name was Janet, was incredible rude to my mother and I. Came in a few days ago and wanted to get her a late Mother's Day gift that she could pick out herself. We went a few times during the week but this location is always closed during most of the day I'm unsure why. So luckily, we came in and the store was open! We were so excited and was unfortunately faced with Janet. She did not acknowledge us come into store, it actually from what I saw looked like she was talking on her cell phone? She just stared at us the whole time and made us very uncomfortable as she did not say a word, instead stared from behind the counter. After about 5 minutes of no acknowledgement we finally came up to her to ask a question and she was incredibly rude. I agree with the previous reviews on here that she is extremely racist and won't acknowledge anyone who isn't white, as another group came in after us who were white and she hopped up to help them immediately. We ended up finding the exact same product in Nordstrom and purchased there instead with great customer service from the young lady there. I was appalled that my mother had to experience this horrible and inexcusable customer service from Janet. Hoping to find a customer service number soon so that I can report her inappropriate behavior and racist intentions.

I am unsure how these ladies working for this store are still working here. Very rude . No customer service what so ever . Also seems they may be racist at this store. Stuck up white lady who says she's the manager . I walked in and no one greeted me I had to walk up to them and ask questions. Basically shrugged me off . I guess I didn't look like I had money smh. That's not the point though. The point is whoever walks into that store should be greeted and helped out no matter what they look like or what race they are . I will not be going to this location any longer .I hope someone higher up sees this review and gives better training.

The service I received this Saturday was beyond rude. I should have whipped out my cell phone and recorded the encounter, it was that bad. Had to do an exchange and right from the start was met with rude condescending behavior regarding a simple exchange by the manager and associate. When I asked for her name she changed the subject and went on about being the manager. She didn't answer until my sister had to ask again. She asked why we were asking and when I said their attitudes/behavior were coming off as rude she started raising her voice and saying to leave and her co worker started continously leaning into my face and laughing (proving my point) no apology or anything just more condescending behavior. I'm not sure if race played a part in this but we were in complete shock in how we were spoken to and treated from start to finish. Me and my family love loccitane's products and have recently been to different locations and have NEVER had an encounter like this. I'm completely shocked/saddened by our treatment. These two workers, one being the manager (who said her name was Jeanette) have tarnished a product that we had loved. Everyone is equal and no one deserves to be treated less than.

I went here today for a gift my friends. From the start, the woman who looks like a manager here was very unkind. I asked her about what I could get as a promo gift, She was a real bad since then. And I ordered 3 boxes of packages, And I asked her if it could be packaged separately. But her answer was no!!! I couldn't understand. It was $50 per package and each one was a Christmas present for someone else, but I really didn't understand that I can't get 3 paper bags. "Can i buy it?" Asked her. She said, "NO!" I just gave up. I didn't buy it. If I'm the owner, I don't need a manager like her.
