Now days you'll find a lone honest mechanic working at this place among the hot rods and classic cars. There is so much Detroit steel on grounds that it's worth coming down just to see the cars. I came here with a problem they couldn't fix but they didn't charge me to tell me that. I give this place five stars because I honestly wish I could come down, knock back a few beers, and talk cars with the owner.

OK! So I have an old car that I bought from sketchy people!
Burned thru 2 brand new alternators in 10 days.
I was referred here by my mechanic.
Guess what? They were straight with me & my bill was just a fraction of what I thought it would be!
I’m so relieved & so grateful!
They could have charged me triple & I would never have known!
These are honest, nice guys!
I can’t recommend them more!

Salty old hands that went out of their way to help me, free of charge, try to get my very stuck alternator pulley off. Neat shop.

Took my '72 Chevelle for estimate to replace long tube to Sanderson shorty headers.Doug looks at it says pretty straight forward, about 4 hour job for $400 on 350 motor.Set up appt, and had for 2 days,I always call and ask if any issues, and they said there were none.I go to pick up car,and they hand me bill for $675,and refreshed their memory about $400 for install,at that point, they became rude and very unprofessional, and ,I agreed to give an extra $100 toward install, but didn't have the additional cash, and said would be back. When arriving home looked closely at under carriage and noticed flywheel ,or torque converter dust cover hanging down exposing gears,I called and stated the issue, and asked why they didn't tell me about issue,I was able to pull cover off and temporarily fix,so could drive vehicle.I also called and told them I would pick up old headers,so went back on Mon,since not open on wknds,to pick up,and they wouldn't even acknowledge I was standing there.I approached them, and they said headers were in dumpster out in yard, after telling them I would be there to pick up,and inquire why they didn't inform me of cover being off,and was told not their business to tell customer of all the issues they see wrong! At this point I decided to NOT pay additional $100,and left! They were rude and very un professional.I went there expecting at least some professional mechanics,I read previous reviews and expected more.they are NOT at all good at customer relations! The issue could have cost me thousands, and they felt is wasn't important to let me know! P.S,my name is John Arel, somehow came up in wife's name!Service: Exhaust

So, we have a family mechanic, and they suggested to us to come here to Brea Auto Electric, because they couldn't fix what's going on with my truck. In the first 15 minutes of Kevin being under the hood, hooked up to the OBD2, he was able to physically explain what/why, and give me ideas on how to move forward. Quality shop, looks like a junk yard, but that's an aesthetic. If you don't get it, you won't understand ? I'll definitely be adding this place to my list of trusted shops.

I recently had the pleasure of taking my 2009 Lexus RX350 to Brea Auto Electric and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with the service I received. I was having an electrical issue with my car and after taking it to the Lexus dealer, I was informed that they would need to charge me $250 per hour for a few hours just to diagnose the issue. I knew I had to find an alternative solution and that's when I stumbled upon Brea Auto Electric.I was greeted by Kevin, who was extremely knowledgeable and patient when diagnosing the issue with my car. Within just 30 minutes, he was able to find the root cause of the problem which was much faster than what the Lexus dealer had promised. Not only that, but the diagnostic fee at Brea Auto Electric was also only a fraction of what the Lexus dealer had quoted me.What I appreciated most about Kevin was that he took the time to explain exactly what was wrong with my car and even showed me the defective part. This level of transparency and communication is something that is hard to come by these days, and it made me feel confident that my car was in good hands.Overall, I would highly recommend Brea Auto Electric and Kevin to anyone who is in need of reliable and affordable auto repair services. Their professionalism and expertise are truly unmatched and I will definitely be returning to them for any future auto needs.

This company is very kind and professional. I had the pleasure of working with Kevin on my vehicle. He was very knowledgeable and honest. Unfortunately, my electrical problem with my Lexus was not able to be fixed with Brea Auto. Kevin gave me his honest opinion and advice on what to do next. He explained everything to me and made me understand. Thank you Kevin for your help, your time & kindness. David Villa

Doug saved me an incredible amount of money when my Allante's Check Engine came on and the Caddy dealer wanted to replace my console. Doug found it was a simple problem with the engine and not a faulty console. He had every opportunity to screw me over but charged me less than 10% of what Cadillac wanted.

I brought my 1946 Chevy Panel truck here to have a new wiring harness installed. Not only was the wiring taken care of, but a variety of issues from poor work from previous shops. I am quite satisfied with the work, and the value. This is a very busy shop, so be prepared for that. I have and will recommend this shop for any and all classic to hot rod work.

Great Experience with no repair. I have an older Corvette and was having problems with my A/C controller. I called and talked to Kevin (Super Nice Guy) who told me he'd take a look at it. A few hours after I dropped it off, Kevin called me with bad news that my controller was fried and there was no way to repair it. Worse news was that only refurbished controllers are available. Kevin was very honest and told me he couldn't guarantee a refurbished unit, so he wouldn't be able to fix my car. He said he checked everything else and there was nothing wrong with my car, just a bad controller. He charged me for only a half hour of his time, which I felt was more than fair. I just wanted an honest diagnosis. Thanks Kevin!
