“Pedal Barn Bikes is a gem, a bit hidden inside Carbon Canyon, but also next to a cool coffee shop, (when there opened). Mike is one of the best mechanics in the business, takes the time to explain what may be the issues on your bike, and gives options for repairs. He's meticulous and they stand by their work.Cindy is also very helpful on bikes and gear, providing a good price on a new Giant Trance, (aluminum) mt bike, which I've had almost no issues with after a year of riding.The place is a bit cluttered, but they still have bikes, parts & accessories, even some used gear priced well. It's still tough for shops to get the inventory they would like & need, but they'll do they best to provide it.As mentioned in other reviews, you could even ride right from the shop to a couple trails, but you will begin climbing right on of the gate. There generally open Thur-Sun. Btw, the owners & Mike all ride at a high level, and have decades of experience. Highly recommend this shop.”

“Fast and excellent service. Took in my wheels to get the hubs serviced, I told them to replace whatever was needed and at the end all was needed was a the servicing nothing else. They could have replaced parts I didn't need but they didn't and I respect the honesty. My wheel spin like new.”

“OMG...Dan is absolutely amazing! Friendly honest cool guy...We live in seal beach and don't mind the drive to get to him. He has done repairs on my grandsons BMX bike a handful of times, great work for a low price... bought my grandson a E-bike last year that was falling apart from Best Buy . Dan offered to do repairs that I requested and advised me that he had a better E-bike at a reasonable price. After weighing out our options, we decided to buy the New E-Bike from Dan. Dan is a great bike repairman and absolutely knows everything you need to know about bikes and E-bikes. We are so happy we have Dan to help us with all our repair needs. “Got a great condition Santa Cruz Nomad n4 CC from MTB Custom Builds and couldn’t be more stoked on how it came out. Ali’s main focus was to build the frame up exactly how I wanted it. He has parts distributors and puts these complete bikes together to get you a great custom bike built to your preferences.I highly recommend MTB Custom builds, especially if you want to buy a very nice used bike and to spec the parts to your liking (not used parts, new or takeoff parts, which is unheard of buying used). Ali put the bike together with me and got it dialed in, I had a say in every part he put on the frame.Also, Ali has many options so you can save some cash on that dream frame you want.Bottom line - Ali is a great guy and I enjoyed spending time in his shop talking bikes and building my new dream frame up, I highly recommend his services to anyone who is into MTB, he has tons of experience building bikes and KNOWS HIS STUFF, you really can’t go wrong.”

“TLDR: the best service i've ever received at a bike shop. highly recommended. Will only be going here moving forward. I just bought a new track bike after my beloved custom build I've been riding for 13 years got stolen and I needed to get the wheels trued. I tried going to Bike Alley first but they said they couldnt help me. I'd gone there twice before and they never seemed like they cared or knew much about bikes, it's just a job for them. So I tried the next closest place, Adrenaline. And the difference was night and day. Tim was extremely knowledgable and accommodating. A true bike junky like myself. We geeked out for 30 minutes both when I dropped off the wheels and picked them up. And he went above and beyond in the job. He charged me only for a basic true, but really went to town, taking off the wheels and tires, and spending extra time to make them as good as he could. Also for some reason one of the tubes popped after he put it back on but he replaced it for free without even mentioning it until I brought up the different looking stem. He also fixed my seat post/position at no extra charge. I will say, i am extremely surprised and confused to see the negative reviews, particularly the claims of "racism". As a white guy maybe im just oblivious, but I think a more likely explanation for any feeling of "judgement" or "discrimination" stems from the fact that this is a high end bike shop built by serious bike enthusiasts for serious bike enthusiasts. I guess it's possible that customers with more casual or budget friendly needs, irrespective of their race or social class, might not excite and activate the staff in the same way. I'm of course only speculating, but will say that AS serious bike enthusiast of high end bikes: the level of service, attention, and passion for bikes of Tim and the team is unparalleled in my 15 years of riding. I will only be going to Adrenaline moving forward and recommending them to all my fellow bike nerds in the area!”

I was allowed to test ride before making a purchase, so I got to experience what an e-bike is like. They gave me a bike lock and a water bottle stand as gifts. “TLDR: fantastic service and fantastic track bikes. The best you will get in this price range!Long story:I was in need of a new track bike after my precious custom Fuji Track Pro was stolen last week. It was foolishly expensive (~$1500) because building cool and unnecessarily high quality track bikes part-by-part was a hobby of mine 15 years ago.Now though, I just needed something that was decent quality, reasonably priced, and reasonably sexy.I spent a few days looking around on offer up/craiglists/FB marketplace to see what options exist these days. It seemed the sweet spot was between $400-$700 based on things like a new tracklord or used fuji track pro/leader.However the bike that really caught my eye was this weird, seemingly self-made bike called the Raptor (or Cyborg) from SGV bicycles. It had the coolest frame I'd seen in my price range, this awesome 70mm chonker of a rear wheel, and seemed easily customizable to my liking (drop bars, etc).Rather than spend weeks continuing the search for a used bikes (and likely still ending up running into issues with whatever I get) I decided to drive down to SGV (1 hour away) and check it out in person.I was greeted by Zoe at the door who was super friendly. It was a bummer and a little awkward that I had to stand outside, as their showroom is still closed, but she happily tolerated my barrage of questions and brought a Raptor out for me to take a look at.After about 20-30 minutes of discussion--including finding out the frame was designed by Henry's (the other co-owner) brother!--I concluded to YOLO and pull the trigger on the purchase.Henry built it out for me with leader track drops, a 17T cog, and a seat pad at no extra charge. I also added some Wellgo straps for an extra $20. They even worked with me to adjust the seat 5 or 6 times until it was the perfect height.Been riding it every day for a week now and have had zero issues. I will probably replace the pedals with some higher tier sealed cartridge ones soon, but other than that i suspect I'll be riding this thing as is for years to come.Overall I am super happy with my purchase and couldn't recommend SGV or the Raptor/Cyborg more highly!
