Johnnie's is awesome! Better stocked than the lower 3 towns and everything doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The store was super clean, the employees were all very helpful and polite and, I never say this, but, it's always a pleasant experience shopping there.

Local, and nearly isolated, grocery store that covers most all the basics. BBQ closes at 7 pm, sadly. Could not find Tapatio hot sauce. Anything that they don't have, the car parts, hardware or healthfood store most often do. Or they don't. It's the nature of the location. Most will special order - I don't know if Johnnie's does.

For a local small supermarket it is amazingly stocked with tons of great things. Highly recommend.

Johnnie's always has the hard to find ingredients. They also usually have the best pepper selection compared to anywhere in the county. Everyone is always kind and helpful.

I had shopped at Johnnie's many times in the 16yrs I lived in Boulder Creek. The staff was usually pretty nice, not always with it, but nice. My last experience at Johnnies was horrendous. Just after one of the staff members walked past me my foot hit a puddle of water and on the floor in the very space the employee has just walked. My feet flew out from under me and I land hard on the floor with my hands taking the brunt of the fall. I hit so hard that tears came. My fingers and elbow were throbbing, my elbow raw from where it hit something, my tail bone painful, my groceries scattered everywhere and I'm stunned. Three fellow shoppers ask if I'm OK. One asks if I want ice. As I sit on the floor waiting for ice, not one employee comes to see if I'm OK. Eventually someone comes with a bag of ice and DROPS it next to me on the floor. No offer to help me, just a bag of ice and an excuse that "customers don't tell us when there's water on the floor and this is what happens". Really? This is what happens when a customer slips in your store due to your negligence, you lay blame on someone else? You don't ask if they are OK, you don't ask if you can help, you don't help them stand-up or help pick-up the groceries that dropped when they fell, you just drop a bag of ice and walk away. Shocking. The manager on staff eventually comes out after I manage to get up and walk over to the cash register and ask for him. He tells me they will pay for my doctors visit to make sure I'm OK. Later he tells me he's not authorized to say this! Instead he asks for my name and number and tells me someone will follow up with me tomorrow. No one ever follows up. I have to call the store multiple times before I get anyone to talk to me only for them to give me the number of their insurance company. Those people are even worse. The end result I end up paying for my medical bills myself. I work as both a writer and potter. My hands were so badly damaged I lost my current contract and am unable to work in clay years due to the pain I still get when I attempt to wedge clay, or throw on the wheel. I will NEVER set foot in this store again and encourage others to shop elsewhere. It's a shame Yelp forces you to choose a star rating, this store deserves none.

I love shop I love shopping here all the employees are very friendly and helpful and it was the first place that I found vegetarian beef jerky that is very delicious the best I've ever had. This place gets two very enthusiastic thumbs up keep up the good work guys and gals

OMG I've been shopping here for almost 10 years now. Recently as of March April of 2023 they seem to have made a change in mgmt or ownership. The meat and deli section employee sucks in terms of customer service. The checkout clerks are cold as ice. I think I'm going to start shopping at the hippy place.
