#1 this location should change to ACE hardware for a better selection.they have almost all plumbing items it appeared. Very minimum venting supply for hvac or exhausting.Good amount of random camp stuff.I purchased the most expensive, small, and probably not manufactured anymore SOCKET set here. It helped me change some oil on my vacation.Ace would’ve offered a better socket set solution.

This little store is a gem. Yes, all prices in the middle of nowhere are higher than when you have a Walmart, Costco, and Target within eyesight, but to be able to get anything from a stainless steel bolt, to a RV plumbing fitting, to bakeware (or even underwear and jeans) without having to drive an hour is a true blessing. The new ownership is finding their footing and it is regaining the warm helpful local feel. I dropped a letter while shopping and an employee (the owner maybe) tracked me down in the store and returned it. When did that happen in a large box store? I have shopped here for over 30 years now and I am just happy a local “general store” like this still exists.

The best hardware store in town. The only hardware store in town. The have a vast array of merchandise and although you might have to hunt for a bit, you will probably find what you need.

Well stocked and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Apparently some other customers disagree but regarding prices, what do people expect…Walmart prices in the middle of nowhere?

Well known for rude and unhelpful staff. Not bike friendly. Very over priced. You are better off leaving town for hardware needs.

Twice I have come into town and needed 3 gallons of propane because I have a small tank. These people are so greedy that not only do they have the most expensive propane in California But they also require you to purchase at least 4 gallons. They simply can’t be bothered by making so little money on just a couple of gallons. Do you think for one minute that I will ever purchase anything from these greedy people? NO WAY. This whole idea that you have to charge a lot has nothing to do with delivery expenses but just human greed. Shame on you!

It's great to have this well-stocked hardware store in Borrego Springs! Beyond that, I have always felt like they thought they were doing me a favor, generally snotty and unfriendly. When I went in today, a middle-aged gentleman (the owner?) immediately asked "Can I help you?" I replied yes and told him what I was looking for. Instead of replying "Sure, follow me back and I'll show you where to find it", he gave me a description of the general areas/aisle #'s to find things and left it at that. He really could have done better than this, that store was practically empty of customers, and I consider his 'help' marginal at best.

Twice now was charged approx. 30% more than clearly marked price. 1st time was told "someone"stuck a wrong sticker on. Today had a clearly marked item at $4.99 but was charged $6.99. Was told new owners don't want to remark items but to charge more at register with no warning. Good luck to the new owners. At least they are friendly.
