We had the most amazing Winter 6-Course Dinner here during a girls' weekend. It was fish-centered, with oysters, trout and mussels. Each and every morsel was amazing. One of our group doesn't eat fish/shellfish and Kristy and Chef Perry quickly made a soup/salad/pasta offering for our friend. Service and satiety at every level. The restaurant will be a forever pin on my destination map!!

Came here with a friend for the prix fix dinner. The second dish was endives, which I usually like, but in this case it was quite bitter. I appreciate that the ingredients were mostly local and fresh, still I may have preferred some slight manipulation to balance flavors. The main seafood dish was good and definitely "drank" some of the sauce. The staff was nice and the space was cute.

Could have been great, but fell below expectations and left hungry.Made a reservation for 2 on their first Sunday dinner after their paella summer series, and we were seated along their side window overlooking the garden/parking lot. Pros: Intimate dining room with gorgeous table settings; I was obsessed with how buttery-soft their cloth napkins are (I didn't want to dirty them, they was so soft)! Romantic ambience and a unique cocktail menu. I appreciate that they pay their staff a living wage (and therefore, do not accept tips).Cons: The dining space has wonky acoustics, making it difficult to hear your dining companion but very easy to snoop upon tables across the dining room. Of the four-course menu, the first two courses are exceedingly "light," so we left our dinner still hungry. Additionally, they were understaffed, leaving the kitchen to assist the wait staff (and leading to a bit of confusion regarding which table ordered what). We arrived well before the rush and were seated immediately. The wait staff was friendly and took out order right away. As more tables were seated, kitchen staff began assisting the wait staff on the floor. Our cocktails were initially delivered to our neighboring table, so we had to wait an additional 20 minutes or so to receive our beverages (ie. After the first course) which was disappointing. The first course was a few slices of citrus and basil dusted with Parmesan. A dainty dish, but a nice way to wake up the palate! The second course was an endive salad, so bitter as to be indigestible. I took a few bites, but could not manage more and was rather disappointed. Our main course was a bowl of mussels, which were delicious and came served in an herbaceous broth with a side of thick cut bread. While the flavors did not disappoint, the serving size was again, quite small, even with the side of sliced bread. Our waiter came to ask whether we preferred coffee or tea with our dessert course, but did not clarify that it would be an additional charge (+$6 each). While we moved the deconstructed lemon meringue, we did not need the caffeine so late in the day, and would have skipped it had we known it was not a part of the pre-fix menu.Overall, we were unsatisfied with the experience and left hungry.I have heard great things about their breakfasts, but would not recommend nor repeat their pre-fix dinner menu.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars :)The moment we entered the hotel and were greeted by a host, it felt like home. It’s so cozy and stylish, that you want to stay there for a long time. The coursed dinner was simply amazing, sauces were so flavorful and the ingredients are so fresh, it was mind-blowing.Definitely a destination place! Loved every minute of our stay, thank you so much for a great experience!

I am always somewhat reluctant to leave reviews but this experience justifies the effort. I can’t agree less with the people who are leaving 5 star reviews based on the service, the food and the costs. One always has to be aware of mixing the experience of an area or place with the actual experience and to be perfectly honest, the Boonville Inn and Restaurant was beyond underwhelming. The first item of note is the obligatory 20% tip that was imposed on us and all other guests under the guise of the restaurant adding “to provide a living wage to our crew”. First off, that is not the restaurant paying a living wage, that is me paying a living wage. Having travelled through Europe where the restaurant pays a living wage and does not depend on tips to do so by pricing appropriately this is an absolute insult. You pay your staff appropriately by charging accordingly – then and only then are YOU paying a living wage. Second, by imposing a 20% minimum you have guaranteed that service will be abysmal (more on that to follow).Second, the food. To pay $95 for what is contrived and lacklustre in a 4 course tasting menu and having the dessert be virtually inedible is insulting. The first course, a scallop dressed in essentially a gastric with shaved, raw olives was just middling to OK. Course 2 was at best a failure and was described as chip dip with chicken broth by my partner (she was correct). The third course was served in a bowl that made it difficult to eat and the final course was a slow poached lamb shank that was repeatable by any amateur cook and served with no starch, no polenta, no mash… a simple lamb shank. The dessert course was a rhubarb shortcake that was rock-hard and surrounded by outrageously sweet custard. The service was horrible. We brought a bottle of wine for corkage, I ask to a taste to ensure it is not corked. That is done, but then I have to ask for a chiller. The chiller is provided but no wine is poured for my partner. Then as the wine chills the server visits the neighboring tables on occasion but says nothing nor pours any wine. My partner is also now in charge of pouring waters for us (remember – 20% tip guaranteed!!!). Other servers show up with dishes, no explanations, and just pretty much drop and run. Still… no wine pours. So I start pouring wine for us and get water from my partner. This continued all night (oh did I mention that our romantic end to our trip was concluded in 50 minutes????). We noticed that every other table was pouring their own waters and if they had a bottle of wine… their own wines. To top it off, the waitress was describing her preference to not wash her hair to the table beside us because eventually it just falls into place. She then rubbed her hair to show them, went to the line and brought our desserts!!!This was the worst experience I have ever had in wine country – bar none. The food is over-priced, over-hyped but then is absolutely destroyed by the horrific service.

During Mendocino County Fair days, we spent two nights at the hotel. Accompanying us were another couple + a couple of sisters, six people in all. We loved the place; the rooms were very confortable; the food out of this world and most importantly, the service absolutely excellent. We particularly single out Terry at the bar and Vivian for food service out last nite there. As I told Ron on our way out, friend Bruce and I wanted to honor the female side of our group with a surprised B-day cake, this at the last minute. Told Ron I rested comfortably as the staff there just give you the feeling they will pull off kinda out of the ordinary requests. Sure enough, they nailed it that last nite there. We'll be back and can't recommend the hotel more highly...

we were at Booneville hotel for dinner during Sierra Nevada Reggae Festival, beautiful out garden seating, and food and drinks were good. we are pescatarians and they ran out of seafood and offered some vegetarian options that worked out.
