My cat (Loki), has some itchy skin and we have a good plan to clear up his dermatitis. I am bringing my puppy (Domino) back in a few weeks for a few vaccines/nutrition advice. I’ll update my review after but I anticipate another good visit!”

What I appreciate most is that Dr. Nissan takes a holistic approach and is very thorough in explaining high quality treatment options that align with my budget and pet’s needs. “Fabulous service from the front desk to their epic vet, Tim Sherman. Our 17 year old cat, was lethargic and not eating for a few days. We noticed white thick liquid, coming out the side of him. Concerned, we called El Norte vet . They squeezed us in the next day, even though they were booked for the next 5 days. Dr. Sherman called and gave me the scoop that morning. He was kind and professional at the same time. Our cat received excellent care from a cat bite, that was infected. Thanks El Norte , we have changed vets after 17 years!! Our cat is back to being his feisty self!”

“Dr. Zelles is the particular vet we (us and the dog) have seen. She has a good rapport with Coco, our dog--and us. We (and possibly Coco) have full confidence in her. The assistants in the exam room really seem to know--and they explain--what they're doing, and we trust their judgment. The front office is friendly and efficient. Haven't shopped around much for prices, but they're probably in the ballpark. Fortunately, Coco has been pretty healthy, but we expect they could handle serious illness, as well. Their office sends occasional email tips on keeping your dog healthy plus reminders of upcoming appointments and vaccinations due.”

“There just are no words I can say to express my gratitude to and for Dr George. We discovered him back in 2019 when we decided to get hip replacement for our, at the time, 8 1/2 year old German Shepherd. He did such an excellent job that we got her other hip replaced as well, a couple of years later. Last year we went back to him and he removed two tumors that she had developed in her hind quarter. Last week we saw our Bailey was having a very hard time pooping. We took her to a local vet here in Los Angeles and they told us that she had a mass just outside of her colon and that we needed to find an oncologist. No oncologist here in Los Angeles could see her until the end of January. We called Mohnacky in Carlsbad and they got Bailey in that Tuesday. Dr George went over the X-rays with us and showed us that she had a giant tumor that was crushing her colon and her bladder, and there were blood vessels attached to the tumor. He told us emergency surgery was needed. We left Bailey there in their care and drove all the way back to Los Angeles, terrified that at 12 and a half years old, she wouldn't make it through the surgery. She stayed in the hospital for three nights and we called to check on her several times throughout each day. The staff also took pictures of her and sent those to us and they put us on speakerphone so that Bailey could hear our voices. We picked her up today and even though it was Dr George's day off, he came in to the hospital to talk to us personally about the surgery and Bailey's care going forward. We love this doctor. He has saved Bailey's life yet again, and for the rest of her life, we will continue to take her down to see Dr George for anything serious. He is brilliant, talented, gifted, compassionate, and he is our hero. We are forever grateful to Dr. George and the wonderful staff at Mohnacky Hospital in Carlsbad.”

I relocated to Vegas and came back 7 years later with my new pup as my others passed a while ago and the vet entire practice etc. are here still. I was so relieved and happy. If that doesn't speak volumes on how great the care for your furbaby is, customer service and operations are Im not sure what will :) coming back this many years later and still extremely satisfied. I called so many vets clinics hospitals you name it the prices were all very very high for the exam, blood panel and more as, therefore the things you want to get many items addressed or done you have to do slowly if on a budget. There prices are way more reasonable and more family minded in my opinion. Dr. Ichord and even the front office team explains everything out to where you don't ever feel rushed, you don't feel like you left missing anything and your dog/animal comes out happy. “I use their veterinarian services for my working pack and show llama herd. Their veterinarians have expertise working with llamas carefully on administering anesthesia, which is phenomenal. Llamas are much more sensitive to anesthesia. Their facility is top tier and staff highly professional, the coffee and waiting rooms are really comfortable if you're waiting for your animal to be cared for. They've successfully done surgery mending a broken front leg, neonatal care, and respiratory issues investigating breathing wheezing issue on a new breeding stud llama purchase, which enabled me to get a full refund on the animal based on their report.
