The office staff are so blatantly rude to their paying customers but their leader Dr Potenza allows it, as she is the worst and so full of her self. She obviously missed the Bedside Manner class while in school.

I use their veterinarian services for my working pack and show llama herd. Their veterinarians have expertise working with llamas carefully on administering anesthesia, which is phenomenal. Llamas are much more sensitive to anesthesia. Their facility is top tier and staff highly professional, the coffee and waiting rooms are really comfortable if you're waiting for your animal to be cared for. They've successfully done surgery mending a broken front leg, neonatal care, and respiratory issues investigating breathing wheezing issue on a new breeding stud llama purchase, which enabled me to get a full refund on the animal based on their report. This is the place to go if you need solutions to issues with your large animals.Douglas BearmarBlack Mountain Pack LlamasRamona, Ca.

Gracie Mae, OTTB Rescue, had intestinal issues that the Doctors & Staff at this facility tried to repair by performing a surgical procedure. We were told Garcie had a 50 / 50 chance, and we got an honest and accurate cost estimate. She was relieved of her pain and survived the surgery. However, she developed additional problems after the surgery, and it was best for her to be put to sleep. We give our highest regards to this group. Their professionalism, expertise, and kindness made the horrible experience bearable. We HIGHLY recommend this facility and these professionals. RIP Gracie.

The facility and friendly office staff was first class in giving me information about my horse and billing. My thoroughbred came in under emergency circumstances, and I appreciated the immediate care; diagnosis and help from all the doctors and assistants. Dr.Herrera was excellent in communicating with me the needs of my horse and updating me on his daily condition. Thank you to all the staff doctors and everyone and those who gave my horse a bath. Excellent care is rare and genuine hearts that watched over him daily made me feel secure. Shalom is doing great and back to health!

To the person who answered my phone call, I think you know who you are, I apologize for my question. Despite the dare and despite the money I earned (which wasn’t even close to worth the awkwardness humiliation I’m sure we both felt) it was still extremely inappropriate and I’m very sorry for putting you through that. I hope we can both scrub that interaction from our minds. Best wishes to you and your mental health

Our horse is currently at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital and we have had a horrible experience thus far. No pertinent communication, only accusations when I push for statements or updates. We are thousands over the high end of the estimate given with no post op complications but an eye injury caused on their watch. Please message me if you would like further info.

Our horse is currently in the care of San Luis Rey Equine Hospital. So far I have no qualms with the care our horse is receiving however I do have an issue with their communication and financial ethics. We were quoted 8-11k for a colic surgery which to date has now surpassed 12k with a horse that did not have any medical complications post surgery. I have never been given a break down of costs even after asking repeatedly and initially being told I would have financial updates daily. My horse is no longer on an iv, is eating regular food and only being treated for an eye cut which was obtained at their facility and I am being charged $500/day when I was told it would be around $160. It is a horrible situation in itself to have a horse that is going through this. I cannot recommend this facility at this time. They have a monopoly so we are left with few options, if you can go elsewhere. Update. Our horse has been home for a week and his eye is not healing even with 4 treatments a days with three different meds and wearing a hard mask. We went to SLREH with a horse who ultimately needed colic surgery and he has come home with an eye that is damaged and scrapes all over his face. So avoidable and SLRH have taken no accountability at all.

My stallion needed surgery for colic today. The team is attentive and communicates regularly. My questions were answered and I believe that my horse has the best chance to return to normal health. Thank you Vets & staff!

Absolutely the best equine hospital in Southern California, would recommend it to anybody. One of their technicians, Isaiah, was helpful, friendly, and very professional. Definitely worth it!
