My kids have been coming here since October 2023. My daughter was 4 and my son was 6 when they started. Coach Dustin & Coach Matt have been more than amazing with them. Not only do the coaches teach them drills and technique but as a parent I so appreciate how they incorporate life lessons about focus/discipline/commitment/winning and losing/how to treat others, etc into their teachings.Additional back story for parents who are looking for their kids:My son had behavioral issues at school before he started here. I spoke to a behavioral analyst and she told me a lot of little kids (she's seen more so with boys) have tons of energy that need to get out of their bodies but when it sits in them it shows up as inappropriate behavior especially in places like a classroom setting. She recommended I put him in something that really tires him out. So I landed at this studio and his behavior since then has been night and day. The sport has really helped him have a healthy outlet to get his energy out.He loves it so much and even has become obsessed with competing in the sport. He lost his first competition he signed up for but I think losing was one of the best things that has happened to him because now he's committed to getting better and his coaches have really supported him through that. I am very grateful for studio 33. Thank you Coach Dustin & Coach Matt!

I couldn't have enough good things to say about Studio 33. I began training in September so just at the beginning of my journey as a white belt, but I've been realizing how lucky I am to have landed here. The professors and coaches here are second to none. I've taken classes with Dustin, Matt, Sofia and Kalo and they all show great individual attention to the students who walk in to their classes and encourage and support you throughout. They watch your drills and your rolls and offer feedback throughout. I've seen all of them stay after to demonstrate techniques a student had questions about or walk through with them. The environment is fun, respectful and supportive, full of comradery. When I started I was one of only a handful of women attending some of the evening classes at the studio but that has not mattered. Everyone here has a mentor mentality- an attitude that isn't prevalent on the mat everywhere but it is here. That was probably the biggest factor that has made me want to stick with it and grow as a jiu jitsu practitioner! They push me to improve myself and my technique but are also patient and depending on the personality of the woman I have seen everyone adapt to different levels of comfort and ability. The gym is always clean and the mat space is great, you're not often bumping into anyone else. They have weekly open mats so even if you have friends training at other gyms they're encouraged to attend and help build the SD BJJ community together- iron sharpening iron. I come away from every class feeling like I got a good workout, I learned something new, I feel less stressed and want to keep getting better. A great place to be and would recommend to anyone. "Keep rolling until the belt turns black!"

I’ve been going to Studio 33 bjj for a little over a month now. Professor Dustin and the other coaches are very welcoming and genuinely care about teaching the art of jiu jitsu! They offer a variety of classes for all levels. If you’re looking for a great jiu jitsu gym this is the place to go! They’ll take good care of you!

This martial arts school is a safe and clean environment to learn the art of Jiujitsu. The head instructor Dustin is an excellent teacher with many years of experience. He is the type of teacher who continues to learn himself and passes that knowledge on to his a students. There is a well rounded coaching philosophy at this gym where we practice Jiujitsu from the standing position and on the ground techniques. You will learn judo and wrestling takedowns, and an encyclopedia of ground fighting techniques. Coach Matt is a black belt that teaches many classes at this school as well, and he is many years of experience as well. He teaches many great techniques and ensures his students are physically fit and mentally tough. I am blessed to be a part of this community. I recommend for both kids and adults. My son has been training here for over a year now. My son has learned so much on and off the mats while training here. He's learning about discipline, respect, and of course technique.

This is my son's first week at Studio 33 (he is 5 yr old) and so far he is loving it. As an observer to the practice and someone who has not had any experience with Marshal Arts, I love the way the classes are structured and the way the coach approaches the kids. Also, the kids in my son's class are very friendly and willing to help. My son feels really welcomed. Hoping this would be a long term journey for my boy at Studio 33!

I first trained with Dustin almost 10 years ago. His professionalism is only matched by his empathy. His Jiu-Jitsu is clean and mean and I still use techniques he taught me. If you have the opportunity to roll at 33 you should. I guarantee your game will improve.Thank you for running an awesome academy and being a great professor. Osssss

I've known Professor Dustin for over 4yrs now and they way he carries himself on and off the mats is nothing short of exemplary. He is always there for his students and anyone in our community. The Passion he has for our martial arts lifestyle and thirst to share his knowledge to better all around him is what makes him a true leader and a standout in our community. I would recommend everyone to go visit Dustin and learn from him in life and bjj.

The people at this gym treat you like family. Not just the instructors but the fellow students. Everyone is open to learning and teaching without the attached egos. It is a great place to train for me and family.
