Second time to have my bus towed into empire cat. Friendly staff and accommodating to take me to my motel since they were backed up. Mechanic knows his business and fixed my 18 yr old school bus and getting me back on the road.

I don't want to leave this review but feel there is no choice anymore. Long story as short as possible - had an overheated C12. Was nearby Best Auto in Quartzsite, took it to them. They offered to let me stay on the property for free with hookups in my motorhome while they repaired my CAT.Wanting nothing but the best for my vehicle, I then had it hauled to Empire CAT for a second opinion, and for people specifically trained to work on my engine to get a look.Unlike the first place I went to, Empire wouldn't allow me to stay in my vehicle while they repaired it. Not a big deal, I thought, just do a good job and don't gouge me. Over the phone Empire had stated they could look at it within a week, and had expressed the opinion that the quote I received from the first shop might be a little high. This made me optimistic.Well.4 weeks and close to $2k in motel bills later Empire still couldn't provide any firm diagnosis or timeframe for repair. We had a suspected culprit.2 weeks and another $1200 in motels after that I just had to show up in person and basically guilt trip these people to finish the job.$6000 in parts/labor and $3000 in motels later (close to $10K total), my RV begins overheating again almost immediately when back on the road. The problem has not been addressed. It's overheating despite even waiting until the dead of night to drive to help keeps temps down. Well, no way was it going back to them. I had to limp it home, letting it cooldown for an hour plus every fifty to a hundred miles.I can only wonder if service was even performed or how they came to the conclusion about the problem part. In any case, shouldn't a stress test be performed to make sure the problem is fixed?So after getting it home, I discover the engine oil is as black as midnight and thick like sludge. And I have a persistent check engine and hot engine light. Who knows what further damage has been sustained. This debacle has almost ruined me.
