The Vagabond Inn in Bishop provides a solid base for a stay in the region. For us it was just a transit, but that's all it takes!
The rooms are spacious and clean. The somewhat unusual design (huge windows and the design that could imitate a castle) gives the hotel an individual character. The quiet location is good if you want to sleep quickly and peacefully after a day in Yosemite.
However, the hotel also shows traces of time. The furnishings look outdated and could do with a refresh. The bathroom really wasn't fresh anymore. The breakfast had a limited selection. We could have seen it from the hotel pictures beforehand, but it wasn't that obvious.
The price was slightly higher, typical of the region. Overall, the Vagabond Inn in Bishop is a good option for travelers looking for simple, clean accommodation and a quiet location. However, if you value an extensive breakfast or modern furnishings, you should look for alternatives (and then pay a lot more).

Vagabond is your standard small motel in Bishop.
Pros: location, Very Basic. Clean rooms.
Cons: shady extra "resort fee" that got waived when we questioned it. They prefer cash. Lol.
They made us re-check in each day we stayed there. So weird! Then they reissue keys 3 times. Kind of a pain in the *@#.
Decent price.
Pillows were so small. Like throw pillows for a couch.

Great service! It’s very convenient if you plan to visit North Lake and South Lake! The most important thing is they are dog friendly and have a small dog friendly area.

The Vagabond is a nice place to stay. The only reason for the 2 star was because our room had no hot water and the phone didn’t work. When we went to the front desk to complain the clerk said “ oh sorry I forgot to tell you about that. It will be out all weekend”. Luckily we had a friend we could go stay with. We were able to get a refund through hotels.com.

Well, motels in the USA are not hotels but they charge prices like that, so that's fine again -> $150 a night...
Rooms: Zi with a carpet that is ancient takes some getting used to ??
Walkability: The rest is ok, even the rest is within walking distance.

Dirty. Bad service. Location of this motel is good. But that’s the only positive. Our bathtub was not cleaned properly and had feces on the outside. The young man at the front desk wasn’t helpful. All he could say was “oh”. I’ve stayed here in the past & it was fine. But has gone downhill these last few years. I will not be staying again.

If you have a dog, highly recommended! There’s playground for dogs at the back. Very fast and convenient for checking in and out. Don’t forget to Enjoy the jacuzzi!

Stay at 18.August 2024
Basically a solid, clean hotel. When I checked in I was told that there were two bookings. We clarified on site that only one booking was correct and the second booking was deleted. After I left, however, I saw that 2 nights had been charged to my credit card. Of course that's not right and I complained. To this day I haven't gotten my money back, which is a disgrace.

We booked one night at Vagabond. The room was clean and well equipped. What struck me was we were charged extra $5 amenities even though the price we paid on booking dot com was all included. They even had the nerve to leave an envelope inside our room to ask for tip? Tip for what? To provide a clean room or extra amenities? Breakfast was nothing but DIY: make your own toasts, bagel, cream cheese and pour hot water to your own cup of oatmeal.
Dear Vagabond,
You charge $126.77 for one night and another $5 even though you stated that no extra fees on booking dot com. Yet you still ask for tip. Please take that $5 amenities as a tip and make sure you pay your workers accordingly.

Our room was clean and spacious. Pool was nice and the staff friendly. I would stay here again.

We used the hotel on the way.
The good thing was the value for money, the bed, the speed of check-in/out and that there was complimentary breakfast. Free parking.
The bad thing is that it gives me the feeling of little privacy and the old bathroom.

We arrived after a whole day of travel and at the motel they told us that the boiler in our room had broken down and there was no hot water, they did not offer us a new room or an alternative in another resort, only a refund :)) after a whole day of travel it was really troublesome, no effort at all from the center. I don't recommend it.

NO HOT WATER for 4 day stay in Sep2024. Front desk employee stated the boiler "went out" and no repair imminent. Charged $20 "resort fee" during check-in despite pre-paid online. Clean room.
