This place is overrated. Two stars are given for the nice view, but the food is average and overly priced. $160 per person after tax! I would recommend Nepenthe, 10x better view and much cheaper and more fresh and better food! We saw whales in Nepenthe too from the back patio.

The view is pretty however the food and service is mediocre. Overly priced place, not recommended. I would recommend the nearby restaurant Nepenthe , better view better food and reasonably priced and friendly service.

For the price, not close to worth it for dinner. Everything was under-seasoned and underwhelming. The The setup under the two entrees (fish and lamb) were exactly the same, down to the curry sauce, which seems lazy and inappropriate, given the wildly disparate flavor profiles. The amuse bouche was a "ceviche" but came as one two inch or so length of squid on what seemed like a Tostitos tortilla chip. The soup was fine, I've made better cream of potato at home. The risotto course was delicious. The service and the sommelier in particular were especially wonderful as well as the ambience but the value for the food and the flavor in it was absolutely not worth the $145 a seat.

Majestic experience, I felt transported into a shared but intimately private experience. The gentle decor and soft spotlight created a welcoming environment for conversation. The food was top notch but seasoning was not always to my preference. Nonetheless, I plan to return and recommend it to anyone considering visiting!

Outstanding decor and setting. Great experience at the (very small) bar (only 6 seats). Food was excellent except for entrees (hence the rating): I didn't like that my only 3 choices on a pre-fixe menu were meat, salmon and celery root - no white fish, no poultry, no pasta. On top of that, the celery root was mushy and my wife's salmon was just OK. But everything else from start to finish was superb; just disappointing mains, especially at these prices. Again, hence not a 5-star rating this time.

An unbelievable experience, with equally unbelievable food. While pricey it provided a beautiful atmosphere, and the chef catered to allergies - even with their "fixed" menu. This was above and beyond, and the food was equally so. Even just the view alone is almost worth it (but the food seals the deal).Vegetarian options: Chefs seem willing to accommodate any dietDietary restrictions: Anything, just ask

From the moment of pulling into the property, everyone was so pleasant and accommodating. Each server was superb in their knowledge and gracefulness, plus the drinks, dishes and view were spectacular!

A spectacular view from this restaurant is the highlight. We were disappointed in the prix fixe lunch. Appetizer sounded interesting, but was disappointing. Lots of stong flavors. The salad was good. The mains were undercooked and we had to send back three times to get it right. Very disappointing. They adjusted our bill to reflect their failed efforts. Perhaps dinner is a better experience.

This place is a dream. Is the food incredible? Well kinda, but it's not the best dining experience ever. It is very, very good. Well worth the lunch price. We enjoyed the view, ambience, and day dreamed of staying at the resort. Our service was excellent. Our view was incredible. I think Lunch is so great there. I love coming back. They make you feel special and valued. Great work by their team!

Kind of a let down. Beautiful spot with fabulous views. Food was okay not fantastic considering what you pay. Drink prices were stupid expensive. A $50 average Old Fashioned was a bit crazy but we knew what we were getting into. It was a $500 dinner for two that felt like a $150 dinner. Hope this helps others

One great female server & the doorman/valet treated us with so much warmth and kindness, they made our night! The other server and hostess we interacted with were a stark contrast and did not make us feel welcome. It was a bummer to be treated like you're an inconvenience because otherwise it would have been a really great experience.

Service is excellent. Everyone is so nice and attentive. Food was very delicious but not necessarily the best items I've ever had. I ordered the steak and my gf ordered the burger. The burger was amazing and my steak was mid. I would definitely come back again to try other items.

Amazing venue. Beautiful architecture, very sympathetic to the coastline. Stunning views. Set lunch was varied and delicious. I enjoyed a Marigold Tequila cocktail and a glass of Chablis. All beautiful

We enjoyed lunch at Sierra Mar with our adult children. Sierra Mar is well worth the drive down Highway 1 from Carmel, and it is a jewel on the Big Sur coast. This was our second visit, and our children were quite impressed. The food was innovative in a very good way, and the location is of course spectacular. This is our new favorite place to enjoy lunch when we visit the Monterey area. Highly recommended. I wouldn't be surprised if they are recognized with their own Michelin Star in the future.

Would give more stars if I could. This place is incredible !! The staff is so nice and accommodating. The ambience and views are unbelievable. Food and cocktails were so fresh and made to perfection. It is definitely worth the drive if you are in the bay area. We will be back!!
