Pet Care
VCA Lakeside Animal Hospital
42160 N Shore Dr, Big BearThe folks at lakeside are wonderful, when I had to bring my old girl for her cat for her trip over the rainbow bridge, they were so very caring and helped me through the worst days of my life and took such special care of my Sheba and I appreciate it so much

Hough J D DVM
42160 N Shore Dr, Big BearAwesome and helpful vet. I was visiting from LA for the weekend when my dog had a bad reaction to some anti anxiety medicine prescribed by my vet back at home (who was not helpful when I called). The VCA front desk listened and managed to talk to their vet before they left for lunch. The vet provided helpful information to manage his symptoms. They also provided recommended ERs should his symptoms get worse.A+ for empathizing with a panicked owner and being helpful with no charge over the phone. My boy is healthy!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants
Tropicali
40616 Village Dr, Big Bear LakeMan, this place is an addiction. Let me tell you that this is one of my most favorite restaurants in socal. My only complaint is that I can only come here about once a year, and If I don't I go into withdrawal (that's how good it is.) y'all need to sell your sauces, they're to die for.

Murray's Saloon & Eatery
672 Cottage Ln, Big Bear LakeI know it's a saloon, but after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures, I decided to take the family. It was delicious. All the kids liked it. They even devoured the cheese sticks, and I had to order another one. And they were huge. The hamburgers were juicy. The kids felt out of place at first, but as soon as the food arrived, all their worries left. I'm glad they are family-friendly.

Wyatt's Grill and Saloon
42900 Big Bear Blvd, Big Bear LakeCountry/Western feeling as soon as you walk in. The food is really good and I’d definitely come back especially for the bbq burger and onion rings. Unfortunately I didn’t experience any dancing at the time I went. But still had a good experience.

Jakobe's Famous Foods
41799 Big Bear Blvd, Big Bear LakeWe had dinner here tonight, and it was delicious! I had the scallop pasta and my husband had the pork chops, and we both really enjoyed our meal. Our server, Patty, was very nice and accommodating, and the service was quick. We also liked the ambiance -- we enjoyed sitting by the fire on this chilly night. A GREAT option in Big Bear if you aren't feeling fighting the crowds in the main Village area.

Santana Mavericks Bar N Grill
41072 Big Bear Boulevard, Big Bear LakeLOVE the new location, much less chilly on the patio being at ground level! Not quite as awesome a lake view but still a really nice one and I believe all tables inside also have a view. Much easier to get to and great parking, love the dog friendly patio! (Did not get the “dogs must stay on the ground” instruction as at the old location so I don’t know if this is still their policy or if they gave my 7 month old, 7 lb. pup a pass..?) Server was good but did disappear once for a long 15-20 mins when we needed him and the other 2 or 3 servers on the patio never looked our way.. ? My one food complaint that took away a star is that the dinner salad was on a plate that was way too small, and worse, it was very, very watery. So much so that it diluted the dressing into a ranch-water puddle on the bottom of the plate, could not finish it. Regardless, the 6-7 different cuisines on the menu means there is something for everyone here, it’s fun to mix and match. We will always go back here, overall Santana and Maverick’s is one of the best restaurants in Big Bear! ?
Parking: Lots of space, level lot.

Dank Donuts
42612 Moonridge Rd, Big Bear LakeFantastic donuts! I love the pink frosted, and the white frosted old fashioned. The small gluten free donuts are VERY rich, but also pretty tasty! The "Apple critter" is also really amazing, but again, very rich. You could easily split it with someone!
Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming of kids, dogs (patio), and all types of people.
