First thing my kids and I got instead of a breath of fresh air was marijuana. Too many sketchy people hanging out (11:00 in the morning and there were many tweakers). We managed to get a tiny piece of beach (most is rocky) to put a blanket and sit and wade in the water. Playground and bathroom weren’t bad. I don’t really have complaints about the spot itself, but the people who hang out there….. I literally could have just went to Pomona or something. I won’t be going back to that spot!

There is a little aluminum pier at the north west side of the park that looks over the lake and likely gives a beautiful sunset view in the evening. Many parents filtered through while my kid played. All of us tiring the kids out so they sleep well... (?)Restrooms: Nearby and seemed to be very clean.Picnic area: A few tables and benches in the park.

Ski Beach Park is a cool little grassy park with access to the lake. There are only dirt paths amidst stones to get access to the shoreline, which is narrow with several shady spots tucked back beside trees. Small birds and ducks in the area. A dock gives a great panoramic view of the lake. Bring bathing suits for a cool dip!

July 2023-Our first time in Big Bear, I did a Google search to find a good place to take my 4 year old to swim in the lake with a beach area. After reading about this place, saying it was great for kids, there’s a beach, swimming, lifeguard on duty, water toys, and a floating dock, I thought it would be perfect. This information is completely out of date. There’s a small chance lay ground overlooking the lake, which is nice, however, there’s Ko beach or swimming area. Just a big rocky shore. Definitely no lifeguard or water toys anywhere to be seen… and the floating dock? A desolate looking dock, half sinking and surrounded by algae.Skip this place if you’re looking for a fun place to swim or a beach area.

During my recent visit to the beach, I was left quite disappointed by the lack of amenities. I chose this beach from a web search.. The absence of a lifeguard on duty raised safety concerns, and the closure of the water toys and snack bar added to the disappointment. Another draw back is there is not a defined beach area. Instead, swimmers were forced to navigate through large, sharp rocks just to find a tiny spot with sand.We didn't stay.. If you are searching for a family beach with parking and public restrooms go to East Boat Ramp Beach.

Clean park. Had everything my group needed for the kids. Has covered picnic tables, and some out in the grass area. Clean bathrooms. Great play area for the kids.

Friendly dogs at the dog park area, paddle call courts, basketball courts, swings in the playground, plenty of room to play a game of catch with your kids, and a Zipline. What else does a park need?
