Well, I used to use these folks so long ago when the two original owners gave a crap. Decided to give them a try again in May. Let me say that Dr Juarez is a rock star and saved my dog with her diagnosis. On to today, money hungry business. Looking for a dental cleaning for the same dog. Dr Juarez not available so I see someone (actually ever saw them). Need to pay another fee for exam even tho I paid it in May, new doctor they say. Didn't do any exam. Took him to the back room and came back with a few of $1005 for a cleaning. Did the same cleaning before for $320 with anesthesia just like this. Would budge a nickel. Told bad, won't ever try again. But, Dr Juarez, you deserve 5 stars for May. Too bad this place is so money hungry. Just help the animal be healthy. Oh well, keep gouging the people.

My 3 year old dog had lost use of his back legs. I called a dozen places and they couldn't help me because of the limited amount of funds I had . I walked in to Desert Dunes Animal Hospital and the staff was Amazing to say the least. Such caring and professional staff. The Doctor was so sympathetic to my situation he knew exactly what was wrong with my baby and didn't suggest the costly diagnostic testing that other places demand. If you are looking for a professional caring veterinarian office look no further, this is it.

I had just moved to the area and finding a vet that I feel comfortable taking my pup to has been a challenge until I came to Desert Dunes Animal Hospital! The staff were all so friendly!

Thank you for receiving us in such a professional manner when I brought my beloved Frankie to your doorstep. Knowing she spent her final hour in your care and warm and understanding environment, feels suitable for a dog that special. When you told us her ashes would be scattered across Joshua Tree National Park, we felt a tremendous sense of purpose and relief. Thank you Dr Getty, thank you Austin, thank you wonderful staff for your professionalism. I'd review 12 (almost 13) stars if I could, for each year of her incredible life. Yours, Kevin

We love them, we have taken all our dogs to DDAH since moving down several years ago and we have consistently been pleased with their service.

Desert Dunes Animal Hospital is the only place I would take my pets. In fact, we have had 3 dogs over the years and all were taken there for vet care and boarding. My young chocolate lab loves going there to stay for a few nights. The staff absolutely loves him as if he was theirs. I truly believe that all pets get first class treatment. Keep up the great work Desert Dunes Animal Hospital and Boarding. FIGHT ON

We had a bad experience with the staff at this business during the several times we brought our puppy there for her immunizations. The desk staff there is young and have clearly had little to no customer service training. Yes, they love the pets, but if there's any problem at all, they get snippy and snarky with the humans. My puppy is rambunctious and as she grew, it was difficult for me to hold her in the waiting room for the 10-20 minutes it took for them to bring her back for her shot. When this happened, everyone behind the desk--probably 6 or 7 people--actually shouted at me "Get her off of the floor!" but never bothered to help me when I was so clearly struggling to control her. From then on, everyone there was totally rude to me and my husband too. I called and spoke with the manager to try to straighten things out and find a workable solution because we had a few shots to go. She was nice and had a helpful suggestion, was also apologetic and said she'd talk to the staff. If she did, it didn't help because, as I said, they continued to be unfriendly and even made comments about me that my husband heard. Including an inappropriate comment IN THE IMMUNIZATION RECORDS that were sent to me. I asked them to remove the comment, but they didn't until I requested it a second time. We loved Dr. Brockmeier and that's why we chose Desert Dunes. It's a shame that the line employees are so unprofessional. And unkind. Not the kind of place I want my dog--or me--to be. We'll find someplace else. 7/23/19 - RE reply from business: they never "treated my dog in the car" - they just had me sit in the car with the dog and someone came to get her when it was time for her to have her shot so I wouldn't have to struggle to keep her off of the floor. However, that was only suggested AFTER I called to speak to the manager because I was so upset about the first three or four visits. (with the yelling at me with no assistance.) And NO ONE ever "reached out to me" until today, after Desert Dunes' response to this review was posted. Get it together, folks. Just apologize and try to do better. Twisting the truth certainly won't help. (BTW, we went to check out the All Creatures Animal Hospital in LQ recently. Night and day! Experienced, polite and professional from the moment we stepped in the door. Training is everything.)

I would never do business with this establishment again. I took my Yorkie Toby in because he was vomiting. Dr. Getty told me was dehydrated and needed IV fluids and suggested he spend the day in the hospital. I went to pick him up later that day and Dr. Getty said she was pleased that he was happy eating and drinking and wagging his tail. $1100 dollars later, we went home. 3 days later, he was vomiting and not eating. Took him back for more IV fluids a shot appetite stimulate and special food. Another $200. Took him home and he died 2 days later

Amazing! Highly recommend! We love Desert Dunes especially Amber and Dr. Brockmiere! They are very attentive, kind and over all you can tell they love animals!! We took our 8 week old pup in and they handled her with such care and love, a few days later we went in for deworming treatment and Amber remembered us right away and guided us and explained everything in great detail, we are so thankful for both of them! Love, Perez family

We had to put down our precious Foxy Lady today and the staff really helped us during such a tragic event. They helped us carry her in, was very transparent throughout the process, and let us handle the paperwork in private so we wouldn't be exposed to everyone else in the lobby. If you have to go through this loss, I highly recommend visiting this location.

So thankful for this place. They've helped me with my Lola time and time again. From knee surgery to vomiting blood. Thank you Dr J and the rest of the staff.

We've been bringing him here for the ten years, his entire life, and even though my dog hates coming to the vet, I know he's receiving excellent care. Recently, my little guy had suddenly been acting unusual (very little interest in playing, slower than usual, didn't want to be cuddled). So I took him in during walk-in hours, and the vet figured out that he was sore from more movement than usual. She prescribed pain meds and an additional eye medication for a possible eye infection and by the time we got back home, my little guy was back to his normal happy and active self. I also appreciate that this practice is upfront about cost. It's no secret that pets are expensive but the vet technicians never guilt trip you into paying more than you can afford and are very understanding when you can't afford a treatment at that moment. If you're looking for a trustworthy vet to bring your pet to, DDAH is the place for you.

First time visit to this vet. Made a last minute appointment which was fine. It would have been nice if they told us there was going to be a 2 hour plus wait. Not cool! The Vet we saw was very good with our dog so our experience was good.

My experience was a great one. Honestly, my five stars are due to staffing being incredibly friendly with the pets (which is an incredible must) and pricing being within reasonable amounts. Would I take my puppers back? YES. Would I recommend? Double Yes!!
