What can I say. to be real when I was there the shelter staff refused to give me water when I was rlly sick so I do remember that. Also someone did die there of an overdose while staff was present so yes I'd say they're poorly trained to act upon any issue really. Anyway I don't think there was a staff I Didnt see sleeping or on the phone. Lol my experience with covenant house is that they're very quick to call the cops to show 'authority' or if you do as little as 'raise your voice' (in frustration of smthng, doesn't have to be at them) oh. but if someone threatens violence towards a resident that isnt 'staff' they refuse to lift a single finger for the safety of someone that isn't them. Some of the staff is also very obnoxious and unhelpful.

This is the most dangerous church I’ve been too. The people who run the homeless shelter housed at the church are afraid of the population they serve. I’ve filed many complaints while working there and even got into a physical altercation with a client who was supposed to be suspended. If you are looking to employment there please proceed with caution and document everything. Management has no back bone and they do not support their staff. The clients run that place and they get away with murder. Someone actually died there.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I wish noone the misfortune of ever going here. The staff are rude and ignorant. They yell, gossip and sleep on the job. Poor experience and training. Some have Never deescalated anything in their lives and you CAN TELL. Most recently a staff named Brittney Robinson physically fought another female youth in the Kitchen area. She basically punched them until their shirt came off and still kept punching them. Although that female youth has been living there for quite some time and is known to have mental issues. Residents have been able to keep things calm. This staff has CLEARLY NO training on keeping a safe environment. She was only stopped when someone intervened. This area also belongs to the church. Quite sad that the staff react even worse than the youth at times.
