Western union sucks. They complain if you send a lot of money. They deny transactions without any reasons. They also cancel and refund without any reason or explanation. They are so stupid

The sheer unprofessionalism of the female day time manager was unbelievable. She instructed the counter girl to tell they had no cash. It destroyed an important meeting. I hope karma served her

This review is not about this western union. I am very unhappy with the western union in general. I sent money last August 18, 2022 through westernunion.com for the amount of $1,096.99 for my cousin's surgery which was on hold because the money didn't arrive. The confirmation said that money will get to the bank of the receiver on August 19, 2022. Few days later I contacted Western Union. They told me that to wait for 3-4 days so my family waited 4 days come money never came. I contacted WU the manager said that I sent a lot of money thats why the Philippine government won't let that particular person to receive money anymore from me in the month of August 2022. Last 8/21/22, according to the agent the process the refund of my $1.096.99 last 8/21. today 9/03/22 I called WU the lady told me that they will start the refund today and I said no I want my money today because I waited for many days 13 days already for this refund. I was also promised by the manager that she will expedite my refund because it was western union's fault. They want to use my money for 23 days and who knows when or maybe they don't want to refund my money. shame on them.

This review is not about any specific Western Union outlet. The people staffing those outlets are fine. My complaint is about the corporation itself. Let me tell you what happened. I have used WU's services just a handful of times in the past. A good friend of mine is trying to pay off a loan he got from China (he is a Chinese national) and he has to send money back to his homeland from time to time to pay the loan. Those payments go to his sister who then makes the payment. On this occasion he forgot his ID and he asked me to send it for him. I agreed. To my great surprise the transfer (about $1500) was declined and I had to speak with a WU rep who asked me countless personal questions that were largely irrelevant. Then I was asked to call a central number, which I did. I spoke with someone there who was absolutely no help at all in solving the problem in a timely manner. Instead he gave me an email address to register my complaint. I sent them the explanation, that I was just doing a favor for a friend, and their response was to sent me a very long form that included requests for, among other things, my bank account numbers. Of course, they are not getting my bank account numbers-ever. I completed the form as best I could and a few days later they again requested all the personal information they had originally requested. At this point I wrote back and told them in no uncertain terms that I have a choice as to how I wish to send money overseas, and as of right then, I do not wish to get off their s*** list, I will simply find another way. Do not expect any kind of service at all from these buffoons. Send money at your own risk ( others here have lost money within WU). They get an average of one star on YELP. They don't even deserve that.

if I could give it zero stars I would. The manager, Morgan, refused to give me the money that had been sent to me through western union despite being given all the information needed and said to try a different location. I guess they make anybody a manager nowadays.
