I shouldn't be so cheap and unappreciative I got the coolest carnival celebration stamps with fireworks on them. I never have to wait long at this post office and it's right next to the Ashy BART station! The exterior is kind of unusual which is probably why it's getting 3 stars on average. It's a good post office. Don't listen to the other reviews.
Even the downtown Oakland Post Office has run out of money order forms, on occasion. They're not a bank cheapskate, they shouldn't be required to handle large sums. I've seen some people get money orders for thousands at some Post Offices. It's old school *not* dingy.

Wow what a terrible place. I came to drop off a pre-paid envelope, didn't even need to wait in line. The lady wouldn't take it because I couldn't leave my bike outside (no lock), I just needed to hand it to her and walk out. What a power trip I will never come here again, such a dark and dreary place and the employees match.

Always understaffed and staff doesn’t have the infrastructure and tools to complete requests. I had an oddly shaped package I needed shipped and they just told me to go to the downtown office. Don’t waste your time.

Good experience overall. Facility seems underfunded but staff were helpful.

This place sucks a**.. the lady that's always there has always bad attitude and no help.. she makes up excuses to not help.. she needs to get replaced.. she can't be in customer service with that attitude.

I've heard about this post office for years. A lot of the time since the pandemic it never has been opened. But was nearby in the morning, it was open to drop a few packages pre paid etc. Even dropping off the person running the desk looked they were in hell. Nobody around. Everything was empty. Just on the phoned waiting for the end of day. Said hello/goodbye and got the "uh huh whatever" from the postal worker. It felt like I was in western of dying part of town. The kind of example of how USPS is dying.South Berkeley/North Oakland needs a better Post Office.

I was so scared entering this place because it looks abandoned. There was no cars in the parking lot. I actually walked in without the packages that I needed to ship just in case the place was closed down but to my surprise it's a fully working post office and the lady at the counter was more than helpful. Super nice gave me some tips on what to do when shipping things for the future which I really appreciate it.

Surprising little spot. It’s definitely the most run-down location, but the worker was fast and friendly which is rare at USPS.All the customers that came in while I was there were super friendly too, seemed like they were regulars. If you’re looking for quick service over appearance this is a good location.

Wish I could give 0 stars! This location and the associate named Vickie are horrible!! Firstly, the associate was in the back on her phone when I walked in and had to wait 4 minutes before she finished. Secondly, when she finally came around, she argued me down about taping a very small box of contacts. Disgusting customer service!! I read the reviews prior to coming here but I did not expect to have issues dropping off 2 packages. This location needs to be shut down immediately!

As everyone said, a truly awful post office. The postal service should be ashamed.

USPS Please Close this store down. This store is not giving you any profit except a employee that uses restroom 3 hours in 8 hour shift and all the signs that says nothing is available. NO MONEY ORDER, NO POSTAGE STAMPS , EVERY THING OUT OF ORDER. now tell me is that a USPS or its just a junkyard ?

These folks do the best they can with limited resources. I've only ever been treated kindly by the folks behind the counter. This is my preferred local post office, and the lines are usually shorter than any of the others nearby.
