Jareth Valdez was an excellent sales consultant. He was engaged and worked with us during our search for a Rav4. He answered all of our questions and is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend working with him.

DO NOT GO HERE. I came here with an emergency -- I'd hit something on the Prius, and my Prius urgently needed two spare parts. After checking, a worker said both parts were available at their warehouse, which is just two blocks away. However, they refused to go get those parts, saying there was no one to cover them. This seemed like a blatant lie; I counted at least four workers who seemed to not be doing anything at that point in time, including one who was literally just eating an orange and being rude to us. One worker, a woman, asked her colleague whether he could go get the parts, and he scoffed, and said, "Nah, I'm not going all that way." My sister and I offered to get the parts ourselves, but they didn't let us do that, either. In the end, even though they had the parts and the time to fix the car before the shop closed, we had to leave empty-handed, driving a broken car two hours down the freeway, since we don't live in Berkely. The workers put us in a dangerous, potentially life-threatening situation, out of sheer laziness. They couldn't be bothered to fix your car, even if that means you're risking your life driving it.
Edited to add: There definitely seemed to be an aspect of race and gender-based discrimination involved here; my sister and I are both young South Asian women, and we were dismissed and mocked almost as soon as we stepped foot in the shop.

Took my car here for the first time for maintenance& the team did not rotate my tires. One is a different brand from the rest & was in the same position when I picked it up. Asked to have the service done after they drove it out for me to pick up & they did it after having to prove that the tire was not rotated… This should not be an issue to begin with.
Paying a lot more to go to a dealership for maintenance does not seem worth it to me if this happens.
The extra star are for the manager, Jason who gave me a call afterwards to sort it out. He is the only reason why I may come back, but even then, my trust in this service center is very low.

Jareth is awesome. No pressured sale tactics and answers all your questions. Lauren is also awesome. Both are knowledgeable and helpful.

Lost my keychain which was attatched to my car key, moved around stuff in my car for no reason and no transperancy. The did the job and the car is working but it's like talking to a wall.... a wall that moves your stuff and throws away your keychain for no reason

My used car was in perfect condition and the price was right. Great Sales team. Very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I would definitely recommend Toyota of Berkeley.

“Doug” reached out on FB about buying my car. He asked for the VIN, which I provided. He never replied, and now he sees my messages, but he doesn’t reply. Unprofessional.

Bought a prepaid maintenance plan with the car. Scheduled first maintenance for the Albany location. Work calls for an emergency the night before maintenance and I don't get a chance to sleep. Not in a position to drive, I call the service line to reschedule. They hang up after 15 seconds and make no effort to call back - when they have the number that called since that's how they looked up the vehicle contract in the first place, when I called to schedule initially.
Incredibly offput by the experience of just trying to reschedule a maintenance that I have to cancel last-minute because I'm unsafe to drive after being awake for a full day due to a work emergency. Sucks that I'm out the $450 or whatever for the preventative maintenance deal, but lesson learned I suppose.

Ordered a Part 11 months ago, PAID FOR IT, and was told it was on back order and would take time. Called just now and first they said "their systems are down and can't find any record of the order" then they said they had actually Received the part; Sat on it; and then sent the part Back ****without ever phoning or emailing me !!! Horribly run business - Amateur hour at best.

7/2/2024 EDIT: Don't trust a word out of this automated response this dealer gives to google reviews. Been a week, no contact. Please do yourself a favor and steer clear. There are so many other Toyota's that deserve your business.
I came in once an full hour an a half before they closed and they wouldn't let me in because they were "closed" even though everywhere on the internet and the sign said open.
Come in another day. The sales manager here is a piece of work I'll tell ya. I came into here trying to buy a CORE GR corolla... recently these cars have been sitting on the lot and don't sell with mark ups anymore. As part of the negotiation process they asked me what number I was thinking of buying the car at and I said a number that wasn't even far off than the number they gave me. The sales manager got SO upset and said goodbye. It was literally a 5 minute interaction. He kissed my business goodbye, I was ready to make a deal.
Funny thing is the next day I got the price I was looking for with a PREMIUM GR corolla from another dealership - why? BECAUSE THEY TOOK THE TIME TO TALK TO ME AND WORK A DEAL.
I work in tech sales and I know car sales is different breed.. However, the same basic sales principles should apply - always treat your customer with RESPECT, LISTEN, EMPATHIZE, AND BUILD THE RELATIONSHIP.
POS dealership.
