I used it often when I spent New Year's with my son who was studying abroad in Berkeley. It's smaller than Trader Jones, but you can get there in plenty of time. There aren't many fresh foods, but there are clothes as well. As the name suggests, it is a red target ? mark.

I experienced overcharge at this store and when I asked them, they wanted to check the CCTV with I was totally okay and wanted them to do that too. But, they didn’t do it, instead refunded me and said such a disappointing word.
I’m warning everyone checking their receipts right away when checking out with their employee.

It’s a good store but small and doesn’t have a lot of products that I usually buy. The dog section is a tiny section in the back of an isle. They are always out of Coke. But it’s clean & safe & decent. Convenient.

I can usually find what I need at this location. It's a very small store carrying basic items.

By the end of my little over four years attending and working at the University of California, Berkeley (2015 to 2019), the Target on Shattuck Avenue was my number one location to go west of campus when I wanted a snack (food or beverage), supplies, or to see if they had some of the protein bars I liked that were out of stock/no longer carried elsewhere. The store was well laid out and easy to navigate and find what I was looking for. For snacks and beverages, there was a fair-sized refrigerated section - so I could get something like a Health-Ade Kombucha if I wanted a chilled drink. My offices were by the North Gate and Sproul Plaza, so if I ran out of something and could not find it in a shop near either of those locations I would come here. Because of its proximity to campus, it was also a place I would come to look for items I needed for life outside of school/work when on my break. When looking for a lock for a locker (for swimming), I also came here. Prices were competitive and sometimes even cheaper for the same product than at the Target in Emeryville or Albany.

My experience over 2 years: Items are frequently incorrectly placed relative to their shelf price/listing. The shelf price often doesn't match what you're charged at checkout (The price is often higher at checkout than what it's listed.). It's often out of stock of basic items, somewhat to be expected. The self-checkout machines too often have problems reading red card.
