Pleasant shopping experience today working with Lori T. She was patient in dealing with a complicated return/repurchase. She was friendly, efficient & professional.
There was also a young man (didn't catch his name) he did mention he enjoyed cooking Italian food. He helped me with a gift card purchase. He was friendly & helpful in suggesting items to buy.

Excellent customer service when we had an issue with a product ordered through Amazon. Props to the store manager Lisa and associates Theresa and Michelle. I worked retail in the past and customer service was a priority back then. These days in general not so much.
The folks at Sur La Table Berkeley deserve the praise and the recognition from their regional managers. Retail is a thankless job for the most part and some customers act like real a**holes sometimes no matter what the associate does. That has never been my approach with retail since working in that environment and it usually works in your favor to be polite in general, even in life people!
Because of this service even though we live 30 minutes south of this location we are considering making the drive to buy a new set of dishes there. Thanks for keeping customers happy!

Over priced. I saw a table cloth for $119.95! The material is very thin and it looks like it will shrink after the first wash.

I have been to so many Sur la tables & this one definitely made me feel uncomfortable. This lady was incredibly forgetful... she asked me 2 times for a bag, and both times, I responded, " Yes, please ." Ay the end, I'm just standing there waiting for MT bag, and she says," Thank you...." I respond." may I have a bag?" She completely wigged out and said," I ASKED YOU SEVERAL TIMES!!!" I was shocked she didn't remember she asked me twice!!! I told her, " I said yes, please, twice." Left feeling annoyed. MT sister n law was like, " What did you do??? To make her wig out??" All...I said was," I don't know!"....

If you love interesting kitchen gadgets, spices or cookware, etc. this is the place for you! Each time, I've visited this store, we are always greeted and offered help. Nowadays that seems less and less common.The store is laid out nicely and I usually end up getting exactly what I was looking for. It also fun just to window shop and go there to see what's the latest new thing. My husband recently got a knife sharpener and he was very happy with his purchase, thanks to the person who helped him (I don't remember his name). Check it out whenever perusing 4th Street!

Visited for the first time in a year or two and I was really impressed with the remodel. It's more of a new layout I'd say, very open and spacious. The displays are shorter than in the past and it feels very open and deluxe. Service was efficient and good, I was just picking up an online gift order.But oh the parking! The little lot in the back of the store was jam packed at noon on a Saturday. Thankfully lots of parking if you just want a bit down the street either direction.
