My brother and I were driving by Sultana Bookstore last weekend when he had me stop to take a look inside. My brother lives less than half a mile away and insisted we stop because the owners were SO kind and had a wide range of books and modest clothing. We pulled up around closing time and didn't want to spend too much time, but ended up staying around 40 mins chatting with owner, Brother Shoukat. What a kind and wonderful human being he is, mA. We bought a lovely tunic for my brother, and an oud burner along with some of the best Bukhoor I've ever smelled. I raved about this store and Br. Shoukat's kindness all week and my mom insisted she join us the next time we go. Next time was yesterday as we were too excited to visit again Br. Shoukat was just as warm and friendly with our mom and we shopped and chatted for 1.5 hours! He even made me a cup of joshanda herbal tea as he noticed that I was sniffling from allergies I'm so happy to have found this gem of a store and family. We plan to come back again soon and have been telling our family and friends to come and support this small business. The prices are extremely reasonable and he let us know most of their prices for goods have remained the same the last 10 years! I pray that God continues to put barakah into this beautiful business and showers his blessings on the owners We will be back soon, iA!

Excellent store, great customer service.. tons of books and excellent quality clothes for men and women with very reasonable prices… owner shaukat is a good man… been visiting this store for over 20 plus years and now my kids love this store.. I highly recommend

Excellent store, the owner is a great person! One of the only book stores left in Berkeley, we need to support this local small business. Its hard to stay in business nowadays, especially in the Bay Area, would totally recommend!

ALHAMDULILLAH they had EVERYTHING we were looking for (and more!). I'm almost six feet tall and they had plenty of abayas to choose from (a treasure for taller women who have trouble with length). We went for a few items and came out with a trunkload! SubhanAllah. We will return soon, insha Allah.

In the back of the store there are garments; incredibly beautiful Scarves, Hijabs, Abayas, Mens Throbes, Fragrances, some Jewelry, Health items, Ceremonial Sage, and Prayer Rugs and more.The Best part of Sultana Bookstore is the Owner and Family. They are The Most Beautifully Gracious, Loving, Pure Kind Hearted, Peaceful, Caring, Humble Beings!We have the best enlightened talks! I can stay in Sultana Bookstore all day! There are some beautiful things here. Great pillows and cushions. Lovely scarves, pashminas, and shawls. And very friendly people.We came back because we wanted to have the incense they use. It turns out it's a room spray. So wonderful.
