I went into Solano Rug Gallery and was greeted by a sweet man named Iraj. I've had this rug for years and now looks brand new thanks to him. I was very skeptical giving someone my expensive rug, but I am so glad I did. He had it cleaned and looking new in a matter of days! This man runs a great and honest business so I had to share.

Almost 40 years ago, I bought a wonderful Nickel Chinese rug from the Solano Oriental Rug gallery. I have carried it around for the past decades. When I moved back to the Bay Area, it was still with me, but much the worse for wear. It badly needed to be repaired, so I went back to where I bought it and they just returned it to me almost as good as new. The store is wonderful and I couldn't be more pleased with the service I got or the results now on display on my living room floor. Thanks so much.

I wish you can give this place a 0 star, but sadly that is not possible.The owner of this rug store has no human heart, he will rip you off no matter what. He especially targets seniors / elderly. The pictures showing the rug pads he sold to my stepdad at a Super High Price (3 times of the normal price everywhere else). He especially targets people who really don't shop prices or quality.Regarding the quality, even rug pads for a small 4 x 6 rug, his rug pads are sold as multiple pieces (different colors) put together. (See photos)In terms of payment, even if you spend over $10,000, he still asks you to pay with cash or check, if you use a credit card, he will charge you 5%. Bottom line, never steps in this place, any rug store in the world is better than this Oriental Rug Gallery.In fact he makes people sign a satisfaction contract at the end. I'm not sure what the purpose of this is other than to protect himself at a later time. I think if you run a good legitimate business. your products should be proof, you don't need a signature on a piece of paper. (This really reminds me of used car salesmen tactics).If it is possible, the owner will cheat you. Be very careful buying from here, or just don't buy anything from here. There are plenty of good reputable rug stores in the area. You don't need to risk it here.

Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the owner, he is very knowledgeable about exotic hand made rugs from Middle East and Asian countries. They mostly carry art pieces rather than just a rug in a wide range of prices from a few hundred dollars to a few hundred thousand dollars per piece. But rugs are generally an investment so spending a lot of money on a good silk art piece will always appreciate in value and the more you spend the more profit you'll make in the long run. Although we weren't able to find what we needed in our budget they kindly referred us to a few other rug galleries and they were so happy about our visit. Definitely check our their art, absolutely stunning and peaceful, BTW they do restore and clean sensitive rugs very well!!!

Solano Oriental Rug Gallery is terrific! You should use them. We have numerous oriental rugs some of which were badly fraying. We decide to have them cleaned and repaired. Iraj is one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. And he really knows rugs! He looked at them, suggested what needed to be done, provided an estimate, and picked them up. 3 weeks later they were done, mended, clean, and looked better than new. What a joy. Using him was a very good choice. He's not cheap but in this case you get what you pay for: exceptionally fine work, attention to detail, stunning result. And he's a really nice guy too. You can't ask for more. Use him! We will now establish a schedule to have Solano Oriental Rug Gallery clean our other rugs on a regular basis.

I absolutely recommend Solano Rug Gallery and its most charming owner, Iraj. He took excellent care of an antique rug--and made us feel like we and our old rug were special. We're thrilled with the results and the service we received. We live in Seattle, and we feel like we gained a new friend!

Bought a very overpriced runner here.Also had a rug cleaned for $210 which doesn't look one bit cleaner than when I delivered it. Would not trust Iraj again.Beautiful selection of rugs though.

Irag is an absolutely amazing business owner. Aside from the fantastic selection of rugs and art, getting to know his journey for business and family is an amazing story. Iraj (the owner) is a wealth of knowledge on carpets and other forms of weaving and fascinating to talk with. We had 2 carpets repaired and cleaned and the difference is amazing. The repairs on one 150+ year old carpet required three tears to be stitched back together, wool dyed to match the original carpet and then woven back into the carpet as well as the end knots repaired and sides cords to be repaired/replaced. They came out beautifully and you'd never know there were tears in the carpet. The cleaning really brought the piece back to life. The other carpet was ~50 years old, much larger and needed some moth holes to be replaced as well as the end knots redone. I can't find where the moth holes know that they are repaired, the ends will not fray anymore and look better than when we bought it and the cleaning really makes it pop now. I have a number of rugs to cycle through over the next year or so to keep them well maintained and bring them back to life with some much needed cleaning. Highly recommend this business.

I would like to give a special shout-out to Iraj of Solano Oriental Rug Gallery for the very professional way he handled our problem. There was a misunderstanding about a pad we purchased for our oriental rug, and we were very unhappy with our situation. He was quick to fix the problem to our satisfaction, stating that making us happy was his first priority. The true measure of a successful business is the high level of customer service it metes out.
