Purchased shoes via their website during the Thanksgiving Sale which included free shipping with purchases over $100. Received the wrong size shoes (unclear if this was their error or mine). Sought a simple exchange for the correct size. It's been anything but. Website presented two different shipping addresses (Emeryville and Richmond) for returns. Had to call the store to clarify which was correct. Told they had moved warehouses to Richmond. No worries. Paid to have them shipped back. After receipt on their end, receive an invoice for an additional "exchange shipping fee". When I respond with an inquiry pointing out that shipping was stated as free with my order, and I had already incurred the cost of shipping them back, I receive the following response: "When you purchased the item it was on sale, the item is no longer on sale and is back to its full price. Typically on sale clearance items we do not allow return or exchange. The item is currently priced at $160. In normal scenarios your return would have just been refunded back to you and if you wanted to repurchase for a different size it would be at the current price of the item. I was able to get approval for the exchange as long as the cost of shipping was covered." I responded that their reply made no sense. I further reiterated I was only seeking a straight exchange, not a new purchase, (so a price difference should not apply) and pointing out again that my purchase was over $100 which included free shipping (which my purchase was and they still offer.) With no further reply, I then receive notification of an unauthorized refund. I won't be shopping with them again. * When I shared this experience (to help advise others) under reviews on their Facebook page, I was then blocked.

Looking at the positive reviews for this store, I completely understand the enthusiasm. Miranda was absolutely exceptional in her knowledge and assistance today. I had a particular use-case for the shoes I was looking for, and she gave me several styles to try. She described them expertly, and answered all my specific questions about color and helped me find the exact pair I needed. The atmosphere was great- I could tell she was happy to be working there. She is a true seasoned professional, and made the shopping/purchasing experience positive and fun. The music that was on in the store was fantastic, too! They had a wide variety on rotation, and it wasn't just me singing to it, either! Thank you to all the staff who make the store experience what it is. I will definitely be recommending everyone go there if they need shoes, and a bit of good cheer!

I had a lovely experience during their anniversary sale, when everything in the store is 20% off! I'm in my mid-30s and was shopping for a comfortable, stylish pair of shoes to wear when teaching. My girlfriend spoke highly of a pair of Dansko clogs she had previously spotted at another local shoe shop. They looked lovely on display but I worried about how they'd look on my feet. One of the staff members brought out a pair for me to try on and kindly explained the particular way clogs should fit. I was blown away at how comfortable they were *and* how they looked!! I ended up going down a size and, in the process, spoke with another helpful staff member who was wearing the same pair of Dansko clogs in a different color and spoke so highly of them. Ultimately, both my girlfriend and I had an excellent, top-notch shopping experience here. I'm glad I live nearby because I know where I'll be getting my next pair of shoes when the time comes!

This shoe store is a real find! They stock Sol Terra, handmade leather shoes that are not only stylish but extremely comfy as well as other brands. There are many varieties to choose from - sandals, booties, to heels. I highly recommend this store.

I truly appreciated how knowledgable and helpful the woman who helped me find the perfect shoes for me was. I bought two pair of shoes, and they are both stylish and comfortable. I had a very positive experience shopping for comfortable but fashionable shoes at Shoes on Solano and highly recommend this store to other woman who are looking for shoes that look great and feel especially comfortable.

My shoes are like walking on air. I was on the hunt for a pair of casual shoes, and definitely found them here. It was difficult to make a decision because I found so many gems. The best gem however, is the level of customer service exhibited by each team member in the store. Quality and customer satisfaction are the benchmark of Shoes on Solano.

Ellen at Shoes on Solano in Walnut Creek is amazing. I needed a new pair of everyday (but lovely) flat soled boots. Most boots have some notion of a heel, which would not work, but Ellen provided me with several options. I now have a wonderful pair of grey, water-resistant, ankle-boot - that accommodate my VERY wide foot. Wore them all day today!

Knowledgeable staff, very helpful service. A great experience shopping for shoes. Good styles too. They have a limited men's selection, so it's not worth a solo outing, but if you are tagging along with some women, you might find something.

This is a great store! The customer service is warm & welcoming. And, they carry the best, & most stylish comfortable shoes, many crafted in Europe. I strongly recommend you check them out if you want great looking shoes, & booties, that are also super comfy. They also carry beautiful handbags!

Knowledgeable staff.I always shop here first when I need any type of shoe and I’m always happy!The staff is always friendly and truly understands shoes, feet and the different types of needs of different types of feet. I really appreciate that they send out emails about what’s new in stock and what/when they’re having a sale. I always seem to buy multiple pairs of shoes during their sales!I have purchased shoes in store and online from Shoes On Solano. Always satisfied with my purchases.

Having purchased 7 pairs of the Sole Terra boots (truly awesome!) in regard to both color and comfort and numerous Ili New York leather accessories (backpack, wallet, credit card case and eyeglass case), I need to rave about the quality of the goods and the excellent customer service. Such good vibes and awesome employees and owner!

This store is one of the very best shoe stores in the bay area. Great shoes, very comfortable, and beautiful! Brilliant colors like Elvis Presley's 'blue suede shoes'....you can find them there! Shout out to Miranda, the excellent buyer/sales woman who gets the best looking , fitting shoes ever. I stand at work and always can great supportive shoes also! Yay!
