The people here are so nice, and the service is amazing! The food is super good, and they have some vegetarian options as well, which is rare to find with Vietnamese places. Overall amazing!

I was feeling kind of sick and really craving some pho and this was the only place near campus, I’m so glad I went! The pho here is really delicious I came back the next day to get more. I’ve never been a big fan of pho but this was game changing. The workers entertained my different questions about the various dishes and checked in with me to make sure I like it. Highly recommend :)

This place is geared to towards college kids. You'll find what you would expect at a Vietnamese restaurant. If you want it your way this isn't the place for you. I wanted to add an item from one sandwich to another and they were not willing to do it even though I wanted to pay for the extra stuff. The price looks like a great deal until you see the portion size. The service was lacking. But I should have known that from the name. They want to push you through like a cafeteria line.

Food was okay. Small portion, meat was dry, dish that should be saucy was not. A general side comment on eating out: it has become so expensive. For the money I spent here, I can go to a supermarket and buy some premium ready-to-eat items and have a much more filling and satisfying meal.

The bhi mi sandwich is very good. And the gentleman who works behind the counter is very polite and nice. I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for some good food

The food was great and a very reasonable price, especially for Berkeley and especially given the large portion sizes.Also, the experience was awesome thanks to the wonderful service: food came out super fast and fresh, and the owner was extremely nice!

As a Viet from socal, I was feeling a little homesick and wanted a banh mi that would satisfy me. I haven't spoken Vietnamese to anyone (besides my mom over the phone) in a while so I was excited to order and speak in my native tongue. The man who took my order was so nice and after talking to him for a bit, I felt a lot better! He even wished me good luck with studying. I got a bánh mì đặc biệt with extra pate for only $7, I'm from San Diego so it would've been at least $2 more. The bánh mì did not destroy the roof of my mouth which happens with many banh mis I've had. It had a nice crunch on the outside and was soft on the inside. I also enjoyed how fresh the veggies were. Overall, I would definitely be back! Cảm ơn :)

I visited this restaurant because of its convenient location, and no one stayed in line at that particular time. I am not a regular eater of pho soup, but this time I decided to eat here. My reaction to this food is not very impressive because there is not really much to eat for the price I paid, about $18 dollars together with tax and tip. Furthermore, I wish they could add something else extra for that price, just like Mexican restaurants do(nachos, salsa and some veggies). Unfortunately, after this restaurant, I had to go to another place and buy a humburger so that I would not be hungry and be able to last till dinner. There were about eight people inside. Overall, the experience was acceptable.

Well known spot for Vietnamese banh mi and pho as the prices are fair for college students. I come here when I am in search of a quick bite! The food is decent and will satisfy a craving to a certain extent. I highly recommend getting their banh mi dac biet (combo cold cut)!

This has been one of my go-to places for pho for years now. You can't beat the price here; their sandwiches are especially extremely affordable. The pho portions are huge and there are a bunch of ways you can mix and match beef parts depending on what you like. The service is also impeccable, and the food comes out extremely quickly. It has a very casual ambiance and is close to the Downtown Berkeley BART station. I also highly recommend their fresh spring rolls and the salad bowl with protein choices of your choosing; the salad bowl is not actually really a salad, as it comes with rice noodles are well and is extremely filling

Every time I get the vermicelli noodle salad bowl I black out and come to 15 minutes later having inhaled 90% of it and using the wrong side of the chopsticks the whole time. It is so so good, the beef is so well marinated and they put such a nice mix of veggies in there and it is such a satisfying and healthy meal. My boyfriend really likes their banh mi as well and they are very reasonably priced!! The servers are so kind and personable. I love this place out of all the changes in downtown Berkeley I'm glad Saigon express has stayed ❤️
