I wasn't a customer but the owner of the store found a way to harass me. I parked my car on the back street to grab a slice of pizza, as i walked back to my car, he came out the store and followed me down the alley. I asked Whats up? He asked if that was my car. I said yeah, he asked if i could read or if i was an idiot bc i can't park there LOL he kept following & took a mental note of my license plate and said he was gonna give it to the police LOL Maybe i wasn't suppose to park there but his response was aggressive and unnecessary, especially towards a woman. He claims I irritated him and i shouldn't break the law lmaooo f*** you old man. i hope you see this!

Its just a sad tiny space crammed to the nooks and crannies of mostly junk where the only room to browse is a step from the front entrance- since there is no space to actually venture more into the store- that is run by a bitter old man who seems like is counting the days until he can close up shop

This man has blessed me and my children with his outstanding generosity, sometimes I visit him even when I don't have the funds to make a purchase. Ed is a very knowledgable owner with great knowledge and knows what he's talking about. He is also one of the nicest people I have ever met, treats his customers like true members of the clan. If i did not know any better I would have mistaken him as Jonah from the Bible.Hope you see this Ed, peace and love brotha.

Owner is extremely rude and condescending and yelled at me for walking by his business. I would advise anyone to not shop here and not support this business.

During our visit, Ed was patient and knowledgeable. It's clear that he puts in great effort, honed over 30+ years, to search for unique items from all over and bring them to Berkeley. We ended up taking home a meaningful item with powerful symbolism during a difficult time. We'll be back for more.

I was in a couple days ago-- the owner seemed like a he couldn't be bothered to answer a couple of questions . Further, prices quoted seemed vastly in excess of what seemed reasonable for the item. I hesitated to leave a review at the time-- it wasn't worth the effort; however, after walking past the business today, I overheard a very rude encounter between the owner and a customer in which, seemingly for no reason, he raised his voice. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a common trend. Frankly, I feel bad for owner-- it must be emotionally exhausting to constantly play the part of an old Scrooge. Wishing him all the best.

If you're a fan of Mid-Century design, Rosebud Gallery should light you up. The small shop is crammed full of interesting and collectible objects d'art from the mid-20th century, from sculptured bronze doorstops to paperweights, tramp art, found objects, cookware, collectible figurines, vintage Hawaiian shirts and much, much, much more. Don't overlook the curated moderne silver jewelery offerings from Mexico, Scandinavia, and elsewhere around the globe. The owner has a fantastic eye for form and artistry in craftwork, especially Mid-Century Design. Don't miss it.

I actually like this guy, and he's never been rude to me. He has great taste and is very knowledgeable, and I would hate to see people pass this place up because of a few nay sayers. Don't limit yourself to what is on view, ask and he may have it. My experience with him is that after I said I wanted a good set of a particular item, he made a window display the next week and even let me mix and match them. He shows a great display of Christmas blow molds every year, some of them quite rare! He has beautiful things. Yes, it's not the cheapest shop, but it's becoming more and more rare and unique as he keeps paying the high dollar rent of upper Solano, and that is worth something! I'm glad he's still here, and I hope you stop by and buy a little something... Be polite! Don't ask him the price of the same shirt over and over; don't let your kids paw stuff that is no longer made anymore! This isn't your average Chinese cheap crap. If you watch and explain to your children, it's good for them to see the kind of quality shops used to offer before customers caught the hgtv virus and all the stores looked the same! Maybe if the complaining patrons weren't petulant and bratty know it alls and permissive parents, he might be happier to see you guys!

Purchased two pieces of artist made and designed, well crafted jewelry (bracelet and pair of earrings) by Anni Ayers Forcum. Not inexpensive but worth every cent I paid. Some nifty vintage stuff at their booth but prefer modern artist made pieces.

Fun to look around. Decent prices on some things (others over priced). Nice guy running the place, he seemed to know his stuff.

Rosebud Gallery is a must visit: a mix of very interesting objects (from the best vintage items to beautifully crafted things (from cast iron and bronze and wood carved animals to simple silver objects by Jensen and the like) as well as unusual, interesting one-of-a-kind pieces that will inspire you and serve your home well as decorative lore. I recently made a purchase and mentioned to the very friendly and knowledgeable owner, Ed that I would like for him to contact me when he finds a Boston Terrier door stop: got a call--he had one--and visited again today! This is a really special place in a mostly big box store world. A great visit into the past (even the building itself is interesting), into a simpler time. No video games or virtual reality goggles here: just simple, interesting and good old fashion treasures that are of fine selection/quality w/ Ed's great eye.

Went to this store once about 5 years ago when I lived in this neighborhood and never went back because the man in the shop was so rude and hostile towards me and my mother. Just came back to visit the old stomping ground and thought, the same grumpy old man can't possibly be here. Well yes he is, rudely yelling at customers perusing his outdoor display from inside the store. He is mean and aggressive and since every single item at this shop can be found at any one of the dozens of antique shops in the bay I don't know how he is still in business. Stay away and go support another small business that is actually a positive contribution to their community.
