Everything I said in my previous review still stands, I just want to highlight how awesome the trainers have been during the last year plus as we've all had to negotiate the COVID pandemic. They've adapted to teaching a mix of in-person and online classes and they've done an excellent job of making things challenging while keeping workouts accessible and adaptable as needed for everyone's personal situation. All of the trainers here are excellent, but most of the classes I take are with Deanna. Training with her is an incredibly positive experience--she is completely committed to helping her clients succeed, and not just in the gym. And on those days when my tank is empty or I'm not with it for whatever reason she's completely understanding and is able to adjust things to meet me where I'm at so I still get a good workout in. A lot of it may be behind the scenes, but she works just as hard as her clients at helping them achieves their goals. Phoenix Gym is an incredibly positive, supportive, and judgement-free zone, and being a member here has been a life-changing experience.

Phoenix Gym is my happy place. The instructors are awesome and the workouts will kick your butt into gear! One of the instructors, Deanna - I have been working with her for years and she is one of the most committed, passionate, and positive instructors. Whether it be Krav Maga, HIIT, or weightlifting, she knows her stuff. She's motivated to help her students achieve their goals, even if it means involving herself in a bet to make it more fun!

Phoenix Gym is awesome. I began to exercise for real for the first time in my mid 40s here. I was skeptical/nervous at first, but Kelly worked me through that phase and I continue to train with her 6 years later. She gets that people start from different places and have different goals. Mine was to stay healthy and build strength to get rid of neck/back pain. Kelly was smart about what she had me doing: she chose programs that strengthened what needed it without stressing what gets sore. I give this place major points for understanding regular folks as well as super serious fitness people. Ill never be a gym maniac but thanks to Kelly and team Ive got a regular exercise program, Im generally stronger and fitter, and a lot of my recurring upper back pain is gone. Meanwhile my wife now trains with Kelly too, and my daughter worked with Kelly after an injury. The vibe at Phoenix is positive and encouraging. Cant say enough good things!

Kelly and Dmitri's workouts have been crucial to my physical and emotional health for the past ten years- I have worked out with them through two pregnancies, one divorce, and six hand surgeries (which really could have limited my ability to exercise, but they are experts at creative modifications)- they have always pushed me to my limits in this supportive "this sucks but you are going to do it anyway" style that has kept me centered and healthy through all kinds of challenges. The members here are serious about training- no stopping mid workout to take ab selfies at this gym-while also being supportive and genuinely a pleasure to be around. I have visited many gyms in the Bay Area thanks to Groupon- Crossfit, Orange Theory, Boxing- and Phoenix is by far the most intensive workout and the most encouraging and accepting atmosphere that I have experienced.

This gym has helped me transform the way I feel about myself and self-care. I continue to seek and meet goals while being supported by an amazing group of trainers who empower and look after their students while always willing to go the extra mile to answer questions and help set objectives. Any level of experience is welcome here by a supportive community. Started with boot camp once a week Saturdays, and about two years later recently logged my first 6 day week and am hungry for more! (Or maybe I'm just hungry.)

Owners Dmitri and Kelly are smart and delightful. They have created a down-to-earth space for serious workouts that draws a friendly bunch of hardworking people. I love going there. I have been doing personal training for several months and am floored by the high level of skill that Dmitri brings to the sessions. I learn a ton and really appreciate how challenging, varied, and well-rounded the training is. Excellence, with encouragement and good will all around. Fabulous place.

The coaches, Kelly and Dmitry, are uniquely gifted at making workouts feel not like work, but rather an equal mix of adrenaline, fun, and camaraderie - all of which added up, for me, to getting into the best shape of my life. I love this place.

This gym is magic! The couple that runs it (the dynamite, hardcore, encouraging Dmitri-n-Kelly!), and my peer-worker-outers, are all fabulous and driven and focused. All the trainers are super professional and helpful, especially Laura! I've done CrossFit and the Y and pilates and running and Soul Cycle and Ice Chamber and you-name-it. I can go twice per week and I feel super strong and maintain my fitness. I can go three times a week and feel shredded. The classes are SO EFFICIENT! And all are super engaging, and torturous, in the best way. Hope you "like" burpees. And, the best news?! They've just started to offer a Sunday class from 1 to 2 p.m. As of Dec 2016. Gamechanger! I feel both pushed to be stronger (NOT, like, personal records and mega weight lifting at CrossFit - more HIIT) but also fully supported to take care of my body in whatever state it's in! DO IT! I work full time and have a 4-year old and this gym makes my life so much better!

It's always a kicka$$ workout with Kelly and gang at Phoenix. Workouts always change, it's always challenging, and the tunes played and other fellow boot campers are a fun bunch. I have known Kelly for almost 8 years and can't think of a better instructor.

I love this gym. I have never loved a gym before. I used to associate gyms with boring workouts. Not here! What I appreciate: variety in workouts, relaxed environment, ability to customize your training even when in a group, dogs, sense of humor, skilled trainers. I am feeling the strength and agility return to my body and I am doing things I thought I could not do. When I go in the mornings, I have a great day at work after. I love this gym.

I've been working out with Kelly at Phoenix Gym for several years now. She customizes my training to accommodate my back and knee problems. Since I started working with Kelly I've been able to lose over 40 lbs and get in shape. Her workouts are never boring but she has challenged me to do so much more than I ever thought I could. I can't live without my workouts with Kelly!

It's finally happened - Phoenix Gym has their own space! And more classes! So.freakin.excited! The gym is spacious and chock full of equipment to take your fitness to the next level. Kelly is an incredibly talented trainer and programmer. She has a keen eye for form and so is great at injury-prevention and rehab. She really loves what she does and this comes across in her positive coaching and creative (read: challenging) workouts. Seriously, her programming is evil and yet everyone is fired up to work their assess off not just for themselves but also for her. I've been working out with Kelly for a long time and she has never disappointed me or programmed a "meh" workout. I always leave high on endorphins and physically spent. Just getting into fitness (after a long pause or ever)? That's fine. Kelly's workouts are accessible to all fitness levels. If you're new to this kind of workout, you can count on lots of one:one attention and high expectations. And she wasn't always a bad ass so she knows and appreciates how hard it can be to change your habits and body. Fitness phenom? Kelly loves to amp it up for you too. Class sizes are small, people are really friendly, Kelly is hilarious and there are classes every day! What are you waiting for?! Go!
