Love spending my Thursday evenings checking out the local vendors. There’s a variety of produce, juices, tamales, pastries and sweets to choose from! Everyone is so nice and makes for an enjoyable experience every time :)

Selection is decent and the vibe is nice when there's a band. Market service staff usually polite, if you don't interact with them directly as a business interested in sponsoring or participating in the market. Then, you will be rudely informed of inconsistent and arbitrary policies which are poorly communicated and enforced. To wit: buskers, massage are allowed; performance / poetry on demand with a typewriter is not. Canvassers are allowed; "passing out flyers" is not (though this is not enforced. Staff are haughty and dismissive when asked about ways to support the market as a local business. The market aggregates high-income customers and could be better supporting its core mission by monetizing those customers better with sponsorship and appropriate ancillary businesses. It could also train its staff to be more courteous to people who spend thousands there and are asking to spend more.

Small market. No more than a dozen vendors. Good for what it is....a local market with familiar offerings.

Most of the produce is fresh it is a little bit pricey but there are stands that not everything is pressed I went to a stand there that sold potatoes and they were soft and spongy seem like they were from last season very old otherwise good organic stuff

The perfect, pocket-sized neighborhood weekly farmers market. Superb fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods, pasta, fish, knife-sharpening, in the heart of North Berkeley.

Wow...I highly recommend this place for fresh veggies and fruits. If you visit must try honey blaze. Along with vegetables you may like to enjoy fresh juices and chips. Mask is not compulsory but encouraged! Ohh yes, you can buy fish and honey too. I couldn't compare the price with other markets so I can't comment on the price but its kind of different experience than regular markets.

Excellent selection of produce and other food products including cheese, meat, poultry, fish, tomallees, soups pickiest and more. We'll run with good social distancing. Masks required and no dogs except certified service dogs.

North Berkeley Farmers' Market is a distant memory from a singular experience years or a decade+ ago. it's a small gathering of organic fruits & veggie vendors. didn't remember many ready to eat food vendors.while i like eating organic goods, i'm not a consistent buyer of them. i prefer to buy edibles for the moment, not having the patience to store and later cook them.i would go again if in the area. i wouldn't make it a destination. Berkeley Bowl is always available without the added hassle of looking for parking.

This the best farmers market in the Bay Area because you get to meet real farmers and honest vendors. I will never go to another market because they are bringing the stuff from the Oakland distribution center and selling it as if they are growing the produce. I trust the Ecology Center and all the markets they manage. They are the very best!
