Nielsen staff was excellent. They spent careful time assisting what would look best for both art pieces. After careful consideration they discussed price options. Much to my delight the price ended up perfect. And cannot wait to see the framed art.

If you're looking for a museum quality framer in the Bay Area who does exceptional work and can provide the necessary time and care to make your prized possessions standout, look no further than Nielsen Arts Gallery & Custom Framing in Berkeley.After reading their Yelp reviews (many thanks to those who took time to post your feedback / experiences), we decided to contact Patrick and team to see if they could help us with a very large lithograph (82" x 46"). We met with Patrick and Chris at their studio and reviewed various framing options as well as pricing and delivery. We appreciated both Patrick and Chris' consultative approach to how best to frame and preserve the print.The final product exceeded our expectations in terms of the overall quality of the workmanship including the frame's materials, fit and finish. In addition, David and Drew did an exceptional job delivering and installing the finished piece as we requested.

This is as good as a frame shop can get. Terrific and personable staff and the owner is also regularly there and involved / hands on. They have a quality selection of frame options and the work is top notch. No, professional quality framing at this level is never inexpensive and you should also be patient. A shop of this level stays very busy. Be prepared for it to take a couple months or more. It hurts to pay for but then it lasts for many many years. I am always happy I did it once I see their beautiful work on my walls. I can't recommend this shop enough. You won't regret it.

So glad to have found this fabulous shop for framing. Ran by a team of artists, they knew exactly what's best for the artwork. They also listened to my preference, and gave their recommendations. Professional and trustworthy. The 3 artworks I brought in were large, and the turn-around period is around 5.5 weeks, which is normal, considering they have to order certain frames and materials depending on the job. I went around several other shops in SF to get price quotes and recommendations, and I'm very happy to work with Nielsen Arts for the quality and reasonable rates. Highly rated and would 100% come back here in the future.

I am so glad that I get to support a business like this! Patrick and Chris are both artists, so they see more than just the frame. They both have an eye for what will make your piece pop in its new frame! I always appreciate their opinions. They have framed whole shows for my Mom remotely, when she shipped the pieces directly to the store, and found the requested frames. They did a beautiful job and wrapped each piece with care. I really can't recommend them enough!!

These folks are pros! I would highly recommend using these folks for all of your framing needs. As a working artist, I appreciate the effort and attention to detail Patrick, Chris, and David bring to every job I've had done there. Also, they have a small but solid selection of ready-made frames and greeting cards and art by local artists as well as art magazines. The shop's biggest plus is the great art exhibits they host, rotating on a regular basis local Bay Area artists. All in all, a terrific experience.

Chris helped me and my Mom with a huge framing order, and he couldn't have made the transaction more smooth! The prices are reasonable for the custom frame work that they do. All of the employees are artists, and care for and respect the work you are leaving with them. I highly recommend them!!
