My boyfriend and I came in a few days before Christmas to look around. No one greeted us when we walked in but we noticed others who walked in after us were greeted. When we were ready to check out the girl at the front was staring down at her phone and didn't notice us at first. Took her a second to realize we were standing right in front of her. Service wasn't good but she wasn't overtly rude. We decided to return the item on the same day and had another person help us. When the return was complete he didn't give us a conclusion to the transaction. He stared at the ground until we left.

Wanted to write a huge shout out to Amina (apologize if I spelled that wrong). I had called her location seeing if she could check inventory for a shirt my dad really wanted for Father's Day - she was able to find it and ship it to me. She even helped me apply my respun code to the order and was so kind and cordial through the whole process. I really appreciated her taking the time to secure this gift for my dad.

This is by far my fav clothing store. I love the brand, ethically, transparency, and style. I always feel like I'm making new friends each time I go to my local store to shop for something new. And FYI the best return policy ever.

The softest clothing, perfect for the Bay area weather-fog to sun. I like the collaboration with the national parks. Very neutral to earth tone color. The perfect clothes for Sunday lounging. Maybe $$ ...but maybe a treat in the long run.

This is such a great store. The clothes are stylish and above all else unbelievably comfortable! It's a little pricey but I honestly feel like I'll be wearing the clothes I've bought here for years and years.

I went in and tried on just about everything in the store. They had a huge selection and the salespeople were extremely nice and helpful. One even helped me decide between a few different pairs of pants and I was thankful for his honest opinion about how the style looked on me, as I was shopping alone. All of the clothes are well-made, soft, and ethically produced. I walked away happy with my purchase! Also, so happy that there's a location in the East Bay now.

The clothes are really very well cut. Beautifully tailored and structured. They fit in a very laid back way and make one look good. Though I can not afford to always shop there, I have a few pieces (pants, jackets). I love them. Staff in Berkeley, 4th Street location is very friendly and helpful.

Great store with friendly, helpful staff and big big selection. Marine Layer's apparel is soft and retro-casual, t-shirts at the center of their aesthetic. This Fourth St location gets inventory and styles that other stores in their network do not. Look also for well-stocked sale racks, generally 20% off. There's great parking just behind the store, accessible off 5th around the corner from SoulCycle. (The smoothie place across the walkway is good, too!) Good place for gifts for kids, school clothes, a shirt to fill your casual wardrobe.

Pretty cute and quality clothes in this lil boutique! Super clean store front, large windows with lots of traffic pedestrian flow. Always friendly staff!
