To go only, but so good for a student meal! I am thankful for this place. Really appreciate the kindness of the owners. She does not speak English well but the warmth in her presence and the food speaks for itself. Recommend getting the Pad Thai!!

I've gotten takeout here a few times and every time it's been such a nice experience!! Leaving a review now because their som tum (papaya salad) is so perfectly executed, and in a week of 90-degree weather I could not ask for a better meal. This salad is an EXPERIENCE. Spicy and briny and sour and sweet and nutty!!Not sure if they shocked the papaya in cold water, but both times I've had the som tum here it was so crunchy and refreshing! Unfortunately no long beans this time (I'm guessing they were out) but tons of fresh lime, crunchy-sour papaya, heirloom tomatoes, and they did not skimp on the peanuts! Heads up that if you order "mild" there won't be any chili at all, so let them know if you still want a little heat!

I prefer other Thai places. We got the eggplant and seafood dish. The fried fish was not great and the shrimp was over done. Lots of randomVegetables and seemed very dry. The chicken dish was fine but wouldn't order it again. Order was east enough but yea...

This place has the best Thai food I've had in Berkeley and has some of the best food overall in the area, despite the dated and dim interior, and the overall lack of patrons. The washroom is very clean but I did see a pigeon in the front and several pigeons in the back because the back door was open. I've had the Thai traditional noodle soup and moo kratha, and they were both amazing! The soup is flavourful with some mouthfeel, like the opposite of a consommé.

Lucky House Thai reminds me of (a) pre-March-2020 lunch-break takeout, (b) delicious random lunch-break dine-in lunches with Carly, and (c) fish tanks.The first two I can explain. The third, I cannot. As far as I know, Lucky House has never had a fish tank; but every time I hear the name and do that thing where I associate the specific Berkeley Thai restaurant with its location on or near University Avenue and, if on, how close to UC Berkeley, random signs and features of different Thai restaurants pop into my head, and for Lucky House, it's a fish tank.The food is good, and the portion sizes are the same whether you eat in or take out. That's important, because so many places skimp on the takeout orders. It's not the lightest Thai food, so if you're into "clean" food--whatever that means--you probably won't like it here. Me? I enjoy my pad see ew with tofu ("Egg is fine") and keep my head down--unless I'm here with Carly, but I'm unlikely to be dining here with Carly because our office moved from Downtown Berkeley to South Berkeley in 2020 and because Carly moved to the Midwest in 2020.The decor leaves a lot to be desired, so don't bring anyone here if you want to impress her. But you know what? You probably deserve someone who doesn't need to be impressed and who enjoys her pad Thai as-is, without any nagging dietary questions or allergy specifications. Or maybe you don't. I don't know you, so I can't say what you deserve. Maybe visions of fish tanks dancing in your head?

Great service. Friendly people. I got Pad Thai with Tofu and Thai Tea. The Thai Tea was excellent in my opinion. I got it with less ice. The Pad Thai had a little bit of tangy flavor er, just a little too much of the tangy flavor for my personal taste. Otherwise everything was fantastic. Let me add, if I wanted a cold drink: I love a very good intensely sugary Thai Tea, so I would come here again and again for the Thai Tea. The Thai tea is what made this review go from 3 to 4 stars. The pad Thai is okay and 3 stars.

No.I said I wanted more than mild spice- I need medium. It's not even mild. I NEED spice. I NEED SPICE!! Please and thanks! I sent this to my sister who is dealing with Covid, and the spice she needs wasn't provided. I also wanted sticky sweet rice. Unlike the Thai in Thailand- there was no mango included. Greaaat. My sisters going to bed- still sick and no dessert. Thx

I ordered delivery, the food was hot and seemed fresh but my pad see ew was lacking its distinct flavor.

This place has great food. Family run and great umami. They do not overcook shrimp. Pork, chicken,all meats are good. I have had takeout a few times. Wonderful every time.

Family home cooking vibes here. Haven't had something on the menu that has disappointed. Large portions, fair prices and very quick service. Owners / managers are friendly and relaxed. They can remember your order without writing it down, even for a party of 4. Don't miss the honey wings. One more thing: this place is empty every time I go, so you will be appreciated and have very good service. The ambiance is a bit plain for California but I like it- I'm here to eat.
