This is a great place to learn salsa and bachata dancing for first-timers. They offer a safe environment with some of the best acoustics in the bay, usually accompanied by live music. Check them out every third friday of the month.

Went to dance here at the monthly event. They start off with a salsa class followed by a bachata class to learn the basic steps. Thereafter, they have 2 rooms available for each so you can go back and forth as desired.Their kitchen was closed, but they did offer a food truck up front and there are drinks for purchase inside. They have a free coat check.Very respectful and fun community event, I danced the whole night and really like that they emphasize that we should all be taking care of each other and have fun.

Third Friday of the month they have a "¡Baila!" party that is a great time. They sell beer, wine, cocktails, and food. There's salsa in the big room, bachata in the smaller room and always tons of good dancers. They have salsa/bachata lessons before the party starts. They require proof of vaccination to enter and you can get cheaper early bird tickets on Eventbrite. I love this event so much! Highly recommend it.

Excellent time had with my mama, learning about Afro-Colombian música and the various regions each instrument was known for. They supplied conga drums and we loved the participation aspect. Beautiful time had.

Whatever is left of old days La Peña. Still love stopping there even though neither the food or the politics are the same as before

A unique place for good food and be able to watch different cultural art, dance shows, documentary movies. La Peña has been around since the 70's and has had many interesting band members from around the world play here.

Maybe I'm biased because my girlfriend has been a member of the community chorus there for decades. But it's the place to go to hear Nueva Canción songs straight in the tradition of Latin American countries. Even more perfect is the presence on-site of a Mexican restaurant, Los Cilantros, that serves dishes that will take you away from the usual rice-and-beans. You can then walk over to the auditorium for the show after your dinner.
