What an awful experience renting from here. The manager lady needs to roll it up she is horrible. They rented me a car that had been crashed it broke down less than a day afterwards and they overcharged me and I could go on. They gave it to me very dirty they are just very unprofessional and bad business.

I had a pretty good experience with the pickup and return, but noticed that I was charge $35 for returning the EV at 53% battery when it was picked up at 55%, and I was told by the attendant that I can return at 50% and above and not get charged. I specifically charged it the night before, but I cannot believe I was charged $35 extra for that! Please rectify.

I had a frustrating experience. I think the initial odometer and charge readings I was given were incorrect, as after retracing the route I drove during a one-day rental there is no way it could have accounted for the odometer difference between when I returned with and what was logged on my paperwork. I was also told I could easily get to Palo Alto and back on the initial charge, but then had to recharge in San Francisco (despite taking a direct route). And then after paying for that recharge I returned the car and was charged $35 by hertz for a recharge even though the level was only slightly lower than what they had initially logged. Overall was expensive and annoying.

Manager on phone for over 30 minutes...Gets off phone, doesn't say hello to anyone or acknowledges in any way all of the waiting customers. 10 more minutes... people are agitated at the lack of action..."Hi, are you able to help us we have been here for almost an hour""An associate will help you when we one is free"Mean while about 3-4 uber drivers were helped. When I asked the guy helping the Uber drivers, he said he was assigned to Uber and will help once he go through them. More time goes by....Manager starts to help for the next 10 minutes the other associate that had been there helping a couple the entire time we were there, we were the first in line after the couple....More time goes by...Me, "Excuse me, is there any way you can help us we have been waiting over an hour now"Manager, "I am helping a customer (assisting the other associate with the couple" with an issue, an associate will be with you once we become free"Continues to "help" the couple, the other associate is on the phone with the insurance, and the manager was just there waiting on the insurance.At this point the manager goes out side, she starts talking outside with an Uber driver and she begins to help them. After 10-15min comes back in. A frustrated customer says to her, "Here are the key to the rental, I don't have time today to wait another hour just to get help like yesterday"....More time goes by.... at this point there were about 9 customers waiting over an hour, we waited over an hour and a half and we were the first ones in line and the manager did not help us. When I again asked if she could help us she said the same thing again.This is unprofessional and a complete waste of time for customers. Read the reviews at this location and you will see that this is the norm. You have placed an unprofessional in a professional role as a manager. She is not conscience of people's time, nor does she presents herself well, she looked like she skipped the shower that day and the day before, her hair had not been combed for a while.And for those that share the same experience, tell me she doesn't look like a mouth breeding character from South Park! lol... be mad, it's true.

Rented a Uber car. Paid for a week. Transmission blew up in car after 15 minutes and had to be towed. Returned next day for new car and was told all I could do is pay $85 dollars for the car for the first day(15 minutes use) and rent another car for another week to replace the first one. Also the manager refused to deal with this herself and was outside smoking and then made employee handle transaction and refused to explain to me herself.DangerousHorrible service by manager ChristineRip offBeware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never given 1 star, but this Hertz location. Wanted to drop the car back and took them 2 hr to finish the paperwork. They really need to work on this.

Very unprofessional staff, They are super slow people waits for more than two hours for pick up and drop off.Also one person working for Uber rental and one person for regular rental.After all their charges too high

This place is run by Kathryn Gierke who’s a very unprofessional store manager, who let customers pay for their mistakes just to cover their own wrong doing. we rented a car for 3 days and turned it in on time with full tank of gas, they then rented out the same car to someone else and that person drove and returned it to different city the next day so it was a shock for us to see the charges close to $400 when it should be only $158. We went to the office and they acknowledged that it was their mistake and instead of making things right Katheryn lied to me of the charges that was on the invoice and said the fuel & service charge of 57.98 is a taxes and not a fuel charge and also $40 charge of dropping car off to different location. Don’t rent from this place. Avoid it at all cost .Kathryn has no business running this place and it’s not her first time making mistakes and put those burden on customers. Hertz can do much better hiring a better suited person.

Repeatedly instructed to bring the Uber rental in for "attention" without any known reason and never informed ahead of time. Then today I drove 1.5hrs in heavy rain and accidents to arrive when they opened at 8am just to be told to come back at 9am! Why? The last time I spent over 2hrs waiting just to have them look at the tires for 5 minutes! These seemingly unnecessary requests are intruding into my personal and work times, causing me frustration and loss of money! Do they care...doesn't look like it!

My recent encounter with Hertz in Berkeley left much to be desired. Despite making a reservation days in advance, I faced a long pickup line only to be told there were no available cars. To secure one immediately, I was pressured into an upgrade, incurring unexpected costs.Returning the car was no better, with another lengthy line. Although the drop-off process was quicker, the inconsistency added to the overall dissatisfaction. Hertz Berkeley's inefficiency, poor service, and unexpected charges make it difficult for me to recommend this location. 1 star.
