“I love Berkeley Bowl because they have fabulous fruits and vegetables - - both organic and conventional. They are really on top of their produce. There are lots of people working there to keep it clean. They have discounted produce that is super ripe--ready to take home and use.I prefer going early in the morning when it's less crowded. I find their aisles to be rather narrow when someone is coming the opposite direction. It can be hard to socially distance in their isles. They have lots of variety. They have fresh fish (wild and farmed) and meat (organic and conventional). I have found the butchers to be friendly and helpful. If you are a senior, they will give you a good cup of coffee (part of my morning ritual if I am there in the morning). They have a very nice bakery if you have a sweet tooth.Their cheese section has cheese from around the world. Besides the bakery with wonderful tasting desserts, they have fresh bread. There deli has Asian foods, Mexican, and desserts. During Covid times--take out only. They clean their shopping carts between uses, and don't let too many people in at once. You put your own groceries into your own bag--unless you buy a paper bag and they then bag it for you.For me, it is kind of a cross between a coop and a large grocery store. I love what they have to offer!!!”

“I’ve been trying the various flavors of kefirs and kombuchas they make over the past few months, and so far every single one is extremely refreshing. The apple-ginger, root beer, and blueberry juniper are favorites so far.”

“This is a hidden jewel and always an incredible experience, worth a visit! If you are looking for a tincture or a specific herb or incredible tea blends this is the place. I always learn something new about herbs and how best to take them here. I highly recommend Alembique!”

“Pretty good products/prices.The store is actually hilarious in how carricaturish it is: the customers who shop there are sort of a south park stereotype of your typical Berkeleyan. I suspect UCB is doing human cloning!”

“We stopped by Whole Foods on the weekend to purchase some items since we had manufactured coupons. The parking lot was busy but we were able to find a spot quickly as people kept coming in and out. When you first walk in, there are self check out station and a guard. There is also a customer service station allowing you to return your Amazon packages. Inside of the store, the aisles were not labeled according, so it was tough to locate many items that I was looking for. Even though it was a busy store, the items in the store is always stocked and cleaned. While using manufacturer coupons at checkout, the customer service representatives and other store customers made me feel unwelcome and it felt frustrating. I carefully planned my budget and since some of the coupons were not taken, the total went over the roof. I would definitely go back if their customer service representative is trained better.”

“I won't go on a North Berkeley rant but this WF market is nice. Pretty big and plenty of self checkout stations. Prices high but you can still find some value if you poke around a bit ?”

“This store looks much newer than the other store on telegraph, in Berkeley, and I really liked the local selection here as well. The only problem is that it's at a somewhat major intersection in Temescal and so traffic, and finding parking are both usually harder here at street level. Normally you can find a 10 min spot on the street though.”
