Incredibly disappointed with the lack of respectful communication from G & C Autobody's front desk staff. Their rudeness and unprofessionalism left a sour taste in my mouth. Customer service should be a priority, and unfortunately, they fell far short of that standard.

Avoid this place at all costs! They neither provide updates nor fulfill their commitments. My vehicle has been in their possession for over three months, and they still won't provide me with any information on its status unless I call them. It's always me who has to initiate contact and inquire about the progress.

Sean and co. at G&C Auto Body in Berkeley went above and beyond for me after a parking lot fender-bender. These guys (and gals) do stellar work. Sean is a clear communicator and helped make the whole process as easy as it could be. Absolutely bringing my business back here in the unlucky event that I need more bodywork done!

avoid this shop if you value your time, sanity or dignity. If you have the misfortune of being a G&C customer, here are some tips:- they will not get it right the first, second, or third time- when you ask them to do the job right, they will try to argue and weasel out of it- if they ask to put you on hold, you might as well hang up and call back laterAt first, I thought I got lucky - I found a convenient local shop that will talk to my insurance for me. They have a widely known name and are recommended by insurance companies. Surely, this would be well worth the money. I thought wrong. Not only did they consistently ignore glaring issues, they wasted my time over, and over, and over again. Something as simple as a headlight required me to return to their shop twice, and even argue with their shop manager that headlights are to be aimed according to specification. They hung up on me more than 3 times, and simply forgot that I was put on hold on multiple occasions. When I arrived at the shop for the third time I was told that they couldn't provide me a ride home or to work, and that if I left the shop they wouldn't work on my car. This is after I called and was told me to come in that day for a drop off. They forgot I was on the schedule and tried to blame me for it. Their shop manager stood there and tried to suggest I just showed up 9am on a Friday of my own volition, demanding they work on my car. As if I would waste paid hours of my time dealing with their careless and unprofessional service. Instead of offering an apology for doing the job wrong multiple times, I was called rude, and numerous excuses were hurled at me for simply wanting my bumper on with no gaps, and my headlights both aimed level. The shop manager tried to tell me "it's up to you how you like your headlights aimed" as if having one aimed level, where it's supposed to be according to the manufacturer, and the other pointed at the ground is in any way acceptable. Just remember when they show you the work they did on your car - these people are professionals. Do not hold them to the amateur standards that they set for themselves. This shop is obligated to return your car to its original condition (prior to the accident). Don't take your car back unless that obligation is met. Your biggest bargaining chip is literally the inconvenience of your car being in their way. If you want them to get it done right and in a reasonable amount of time you might as well leave it at their shop. It is more than worth it to pay a little extra, or drive a dented up car for a little while longer if it means you can take it to any body shop other than G&C in Berkeley. ANY. OTHER. SHOP. Save yourself the headache. And to the fine, fine folks at G&C - here is a hint: GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. Your work speaks for itself. If you're happy sending cars out of your shop with bumpers sagging, gaps in the panels, and cross eyed headlights, don't be surprised that your reputation is in the gutter.

Terrible service!!! Never completed fixing my brand new Tesla after a tree fell on it last January and charged me double for a part they never replaced. Said the part was on order for 8 months. We called and had it delivered by Tesla in one day. Never returned my phone calls. Would never use them again

I have used this shop twice, once for my Sequoia that unfortunately totaled, and once for my suburban. If I ever have another claim I will come back here. Everyone in the office was extremely helpful and nice, they made sure to explain the process in a way that i could understand, and were just overall pleasant to work with.

They claim to keep your car off this street. This is not true. I left to get my rental and my car was parked on the street. I went by later in the day and my car was on the street. Now they are closed and my car is still on the street. Please do not lie to your customers.

I was advised to go to this place by the insurance company after being in a car accident. They were scheduling appointments a month out. After waiting a month to bring my car in for an estimate, I waited two more months for them to give me an appointment to get the car repaired. They never contacted me. When I tried to reach out, they took down my info unapologetically and never followed up. I gave up trying to work with this company.

Horrible repair experience and customer service experience. the shop improperly documents inflating information on invoices to be able to get more money out of the insurance companies, and when the insurance companies don't pay the inflated itemized bill, they come after the customer and threatens them with collection agencies etc. real ruthless, be careful dealing with G&C auto body in berkeley in combination with triple AAA and teslas they don't have that process down pact yet and they are money hungry unapologetically. shaun comes off as a nice guy but when it comes to the nitty gritty he is very dismissive and unhelpful. all the front desk ppl are nice though. :) But how they conduct business, is not. not to mention my car is still not fixed all the way, they claimed to have checked the repairs, but as soon as i drive off and head home my car is still having signs that everything that needed to be repaired has not been, so it seems they may cut corners as well. i don't wish these problems on anyone, this process has completely turned me off from G&C and Triple AAA. think twice about having them run your repairs. i get nothing from leaving this feedback so take it as serious as i am writing this.Services: Electrical repair

I cannot speak to the quality of the workmanship of this shop, but service is abysmal. Don't waste your time here. I first contacted G&C for a consultation on June 28 2023 and took their first available appointment two weeks later. After bringing my car to the shop for an estimate, about two weeks went by and I heard nothing. I called their main customer service team who told me the estimator was busy and would call me back as soon as possible. I heard nothing back and had to follow up with the customer service team twice and threaten to take my business elsewhere before being patched through to my estimator. Angela was apologetic, looked into my file and saw that a hold was placed on my claim by my insurance. She gave me her cell phone number on a Friday and assured me she would be in touch the following Monday. She provided me with an estimate and I sent her a text approximately one week later to ask how to move forward with the repair. I texted her direct line on Friday August 18th. It is now August 23rd and I have not gotten any response. I reached out to them two months ago and nothing has been done. An appointment hasn't even been set for me to bring my car in. Don't waste your time here.

I usually don't write bad review. I have been pushy to get my car repaired in one day. However I got hang up 3 times(purposely) trying to get update the status of my vehicle. I really recommend you pick another place to repair your vehicle.

Had a wonderful experience bringing my car today for an estimate. The damage was minimal, and the team was able to buff out the scuff marks on the spot. They are honest and kind, and I would gladly bring my car back if it ever needed additional body work. Also, it is Tesla certified + State Farm preferred -- likely making any insurance needs very seamless.

Had my Tesla model 3 in here after I got rear ended. The body shop damaged the carbon fiber rear spoiler when they removed it, then installed the damaged spoiler back wrong (there’s not meant to be a quarter inch gap at the top of the spoiler - catching air is literally the opposite of what it’s meant to do.) they also damaged the emergency door release latch and tried to hide the damage by putting the loose piece back on.This has been going on since February and they still haven’t rectified the problem.Wouldn’t recommend them; make sure you carefully inspect your car when you get it back, and NOT just the parts they repaired.
